Guest guest
Today I got back the results of blood work. All of my liver enzymes were within the normal range, except Alkaline Phosphatase, which was two points BELOW the normal range. I was told by one of my rheumy fellows once that this was like cholesterol, the lower the better. My white blood cell count has fallen a notch to 3.9 and is now lower than the normal range of 4.0-10.5. I was happy last time that it had risen to 4.4. I'm lucky that I'm not getting sick a lot; in fact, I haven't even had a cold this winter. (Knock on wood.) I usually have at least two, but then, the winter's not over yet. The new rheumy wanted me to get a C-Reactive Protein test done this time, so I did. It was 0.1, with normal being under 0.6. I guess that shows how well the Enbrel is working. I am still trying to do without Celebrex, taking Tylenol instead. It seems to be working pretty well most of the time. Last week I went on a genealogy trip and had back pain, but I'm sure it was from lots of standing and lifting deed and will books that must weigh 20 pounds each! Since I got home and have had some rest, the back pain is gone. It's nice to have some good news to report. Sue
