OT: School suggesting repeating a year

After our annual review the school is suggesting my son to stay in the same

class all other kids are moving to Year1. The reason they are saying he only

started to learn now, so it is better to keep him in the same place. It is a

special school, and he will take one place if he is staying in the same class.

But not sure, what catch is there? I don't like his teacher, always under

estimate my son's potential, what shall I do?
