Guest guest
My 4 all recently had general anaesthetics for their tonsillectomies. Interestingly, the Anaesthetist who did all the boys said the article about the nitrous oxide was partially based on his original reserach as a trainee and he said the nurse writing the article used his results and then twisted them... he was not impressed! The boys all had Emla cream on their hands and we managed to get iv s into the backs of their hands so none of them had nitrous oxide at all ie the mask which they hold over their faces. I carried my littlest down to theatre and cuddled him while they did it and he went out while I was holding him so he wasn't frightened at all and then I laid him on the bed. All of the boys were fine afterwards, no bad effects at all cognitive or behavioural from the anaesthetic. was still quite wiped out 10 days post op so our homeopath treated him and the next morning he bounced out of bed.
