Guest guest
is, do you have enough vitamin D and K? Those two vitamins help get calcium where it is supposed to be. Exercise also helps with calcium regulation. Some dietary factors can come into play too, such as sodium intake. Anita > > My hairtest showed calcium wasting. Guest guest
hi alexis, yes he is autistic although seems to be borderline now, as it seems to have dissipated, but still left with learning difficulties. he wasted taurine for over 2 years, now finally i think he is absorbing it along with other supplements, with the help of dr kleminov, a bio neurologist, i am uncertain if he treats adults. best thing is to come off for a hwile in my opinion and then take a break and then slowly build up, what did the other forums say, as would be interested to learn more, they must have some useful answers, i found as my sons body got better so did his eating and tollerance of supplements, bone broth and oils have helped enormously...as well as the amino acids Isobel > > hi is normally when i see mineral or amino acid wasting with my son it means he is not absorbing it, do you take it with vitamin d and magnesium ? as it cannot work without the vit d3...Isobel > > ****Another forum member recognised my calcium wasting and suggested i > take less calcium so i took none. Guest guest
Yes, calcium wasting would mean your body is not using it for some reason. That may be because you take too much (in which case not really wasting but just eliminating that which you don't need). Or it could mean that you lack co-factors that make things happen. So, D and K are fairly common ones. Loads of British people are deficient in D, and loads of people with poor bacterial profiles are low in K. I use the K drops by Thorne. By sodium I meant that too much can interfere with calcium absorption. Sodium is part of salt, but generally the salt we would get in places like movie theatres isn't the kind we want. So, here at my house, we do use quite a bit of salt, but it is sea salt, and we rarely eat anythign that is already salted/pre-packaged. Anita > > is, do you have enough vitamin D and K? Guest guest
is, if stopping calcium helped you, i would stay off it for some while. However, I would also consider starting those other supps I've mentioned, like D and K. If you've been supplementing calcium and it hasn't been going where it is supposed to, it does seem quite likely you are missing co-factors. This means that even the calcium you eat in your normal diet may be causing problems.
