Guest guest
Is getting a low grade fever often common in RA? I get them now and again and I was just wondering if anyone else gets these.
Guest guest
, Hi. I get low grade fevers from time to time as well, and would also like to know if that is an RA thing or if it is something else. I am generally not a fever carrier, so it was a little alarming to me. Good question! Kristi __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Yes, I get the low grade fevers too. It seems the higher my sed rate and CRP are, the more often I get the fevers too. Now that my RA is under a bit better control, I don't get them quite as often, but they can come out of the blue and the fatigue with the fever is ridiculous. Guest guest
, I have had RA for about 2 and a half years. Low grade fevers are part of the package. Feeling tired and foggy are also something I deal with on a daily basis. Try taking aspirin or ibuprofen daily for the fevers. But be cautious, the ibuprofen can cause a whole new set of problems for your kidneys. These drugs may alleviate some of the fever, but if yours is like mine, it comes and goes all the time. Also, I am taking nabumetone for the pain in the joints, this is pretty potent and can be harmful for your stomach if you top it off with ibuprofens or naprosyn. Good luck. By the way, does anyone have any experiences with Enbrel causing chest pains. My situation is not positively related to the Enbrel injections, but I feel the chest pain is a lot more consistent and persistent when I am using the drug along with my others meds: MTX, Pred., Placquinil, and so on. Guest guest
Kristi, Your low grade fevers are defintely part of the package. There are lots of great web sites that can fill you in on what to expect. Mayo Clinic has a great site. Give it a try. Good luck. Cat Re: [ ] low grade fever , Hi. Guest guest
Thanks to everyone. I guess it is a ra thing then. Just wanted to be sure because I am still hoping they say I don't have lupus. Please keep me in your prayers that I don't have lupus. > > , > Hi. I get low grade fevers from time to time as well, and would also like to know if that is an RA thing or if it is something else. Guest guest
Hi there, I am glad you asked this question about chest pain. I get alot of chest pain. I actually went to my family doctor and told him and that maybe he should do some tests. He said that I should not worry about it. I told him that I was on enbrel and that if I didn't worry then who would. I have had chest pain before because I am an asthmatic but lately it is sooooooo bad. I told my doctor that I could not wait till my heart stopped...LOLOLOL...then it would be too late. So he gave me a requisition for a chest xray. I didn't know if anybody else experienced this. thanks, Corinne cat mohseny wrote: > > , > I have had RA for about 2 and a half years. Low grade fevers are part > of the package. Guest guest
The low grade fever/hot flashes were caused by acetaminophen in my pain meds, I thought in the beginning. Lately, I've changed meds all over the place, so I don't notice them as much. I'm not sure where mine are coming from. Dennis [ ] Re: low grade fever Yes, I get the low grade fevers too. Guest guest
An x-ray of your heart does not really show much, if there is damage. My brother dies very unexpectedly at age 44 from a heart condition no know one knew he had. My sister and I both had to have an echo-cardiogram (ultra sound of your heart) to made sure our hearts were healthy, and we had any valve damage, as several cousins have dies quick young also. So keep after your doctor or go to an internist, but settle for an x-ray in WI Corinne Drover <Corinne@...> wrote: Hi there, I am glad you asked this question about chest pain. Guest guest
Corinne, I am glad to hear that I am not the only one with the chest pain dilema. I am going to pursue it once my benefits are up and running at full. I had a short wait due to my pre-existing and my hubby's new job. Not a long wait, but time is precious with RA and other related auto immune diseases. For the time being, I am holding off of the Enbrel until I know for sure. If you do a little research on the Enbrel drug, a lot of info will come up regarding the effects it can have in a lot of areas. As a matter of fact, I believe the insert has stats printed in it as well. They are very informative and upfront, the makers of the drug that is, but I do not want to be one of their statistics. My primary is just not taking it as seriously as I am. The ball is in my court. You should get some testing done too. Especially with the asthma and the RA. Not to mention all the meds you must be on for both. That has to be a little hard to keep straight as far as what drugs hold what risks. Good luck and let me know if you do find anything out.
