Guest guest
have you considered trying the Enbrel self-injections? I began them about 8 months ago, I like the way they made me feel at first, but I have stopped them for now, they seemed to cause my chest pains to worsen. But I hear this is not the norm for most people. It is a high risk drug. But your RA doc will monitor you very closely. I believe it may be effective for Fibromyalgia too. You'd have to ask about that one. I hope you don't have Fibro. But it does go hand in hand with RA and vice versa. Good luck. Guest guest
Hi : I am sorry to hear that you are in so much pain. Yes, it could very well be that you have fibro. I began having problems with fibro about two years into my RA dx, with muscle pains and skin sensitivities. Finally, was dx two years ago, by trigger point and other symptoms. You could have your rheumy check that out for you, and if you do have fibro, there are meds that might be able to help you. I am taking Ultram, 200 mg. daily, and find it better than Ultracet which I was taking up to six tabs a day for pain. I still have pain, it does not completely go away, but it does take the edge off and makes me able to do what I need to do in taking care of my family, and all my critters. Have you tried Enbrel? I have been on that combined with Mtx for about 6 months now, and the combination seems to be working quite well for me. Just something to think about. There are also other meds you might try. I can understand your forgetting when you last took you med with what all you have been dealing with since the death of your husband. How are you and your kids doing? I would not be surprised if this could have also started a fibro flare from the stress you have been under lately. Hope your rheumy can help you - let us know. Guest guest
I've taken Ultram by the handfuls and can''t tell I've taken anything. Aspirin will do better for me, but Ultram will help some folks. I'm taking MS Contin (Morphine) and sometimes it doesn't seem to be enough. I try to boost it with Tylenol Arthritis Formula but it doesn't seem to help either. I don't know what should be next to try, any suggestions? That I can afford, that is. My doc and i have decided to switch to enbrel soon as the paperwork and approval goes thru. I am hoping this isnt fibro, just me being a wuss so to speak. But we will do the test for that in about 6 weeks lol I am off prednisone completely so we'll see how long i can deal without it. HUGS take care
