Guest guest
It's like a big thick paper clip and I clip it to the middle part of my bra. Jen > it falls off when I jump well, that sucks and would make me mad. i havent actually seen the thing yet, but is there some way you can tether it to your body or tie it to the waist string on your athletic pants/shorts? im going to check the fitbit forum and find out. where were you wearing it? thanks for letting me know... it will probably go flying when i use the rebounder! :*carolyn. Guest guest
You can clip it to your underwear or pants. When I play volleyball I'm not only jumping I'm also running forwards/backwards and laterally so that's probably why it won't stay on. It may stay on if you are just rebounding. Jen >there some way you can tether it to your > body or tie it to the waist string on your athletic pants/shorts? oh! what about the armband? :*c. Guest guest
I wonder how I can get the extra clip for my fitbit? Maybe I could wear it while I play volleyball then. I compared my fitbit mileage to my treadmill's mileage and they were almost identicle so I think it's pretty accurate. I don't like the food section on the fitbit...I use myfitnesspal.com because I think it's easier to use. If you think the fitbit maybe counting your driving time you can turn it off then turn it on when you are active. I do that when I go for a walk. On the site it will show your total for the day.Let me know if you have more questions JenSubject: re: fitbitTo: "ExercisevideosYahoogroups (DOT) Com" <exercisevideos >Date: Friday, January 27, 2012, 4:39 PM ive been wearing my fitbit for the past 3 days and so far i really like it im glad that they are including a clip that holds the fitbit now (instead of just spreading the forks apart and using that as a clip). it seems pretty secure. but i was able to attach another clip from my omron to the fitbit so it is even better. the fitbit seems to be alot more sensitive to my steps and im getting way higher counts with it than i got with my omron. for example, all ive done today is work 4 hrs in the deli which would be around 4-5K steps... but my fitbit says 9K !!! im wondering if it is measuring my riding in the car as steps..hmmm. i had it in my pants pocket so maybe i will try clipping it to my bra instead and see if it stops doing that! the website is very good, everything is on there! im not counting cals right now because it drives me bonkers, so all of the food section is kind of annoying to see, because it is empty. but maybe it is showing that because i put in a weight goal, so i will taking that out and see what happens. right now im just noting my food intake in the journal section. i might start using the food section and count calories at a later date, we'll see. im a bit confused about the calorie burn which seems high too, but it does try to take into account your base metabolism (so even when you are idle there is a cal burn). , so i suppose that is why. of course it all ties into the food that you log so it can graph things like cals in vs cals out. the sleep section is very interesting... im surprised at how little sleep i got last night -- it seemed longer than that. normally i have to sleep flat on my back because of my rib, and i see that i wake up less often when i do that (probably because sleeping on my side leads to pain). i wore the fitbit clipped to my tshirt sleeve on my left side (non-dominant, as per instructions). as a bonus, having it there also stopped me from rolling onto my side as often. the auto-sync is great... very fast. and i like that it calculates a stride length so i dont have to try to figure it out myself which can be frustrating. thats all for now, im sure i will think of other things to say about it as time goes by. so far, it is really cool :*carolyn. Guest guest
> I wonder how I can get the extra clip for my fitbit? Maybe I > could wear it while I play volleyball then. did yours come with what they call a 'belt clip'? if so then that is thing im talking about. it is a little black plastic case that the fitbit goes into, which you use while wearing it but you then take the case off to put it into the charger. the other clip that i got off of my omron is a nice extra security measure, i attached it to my fitbit using a hair band. i will try to take a photo so you can see what i mean. > I don't like the food section on the fitbit...I use > myfitnesspal.com because I think it's easier to use. so i guess that your food section comes up blank on fitbit.com too... it says that i have a goal of a certain number of calories per day, but that im always way below goal because i dont log anything. i tried to remove the weight goal so that it would stop telling me that, but it seems to be mandatory to have a weight goal. oh well, i will keep playing with it. > If you think the fitbit maybe counting your driving time you can > turn it off then turn it on when you are active. the manual says that to turn off the fitbit, you have to place it on an unplugged base unit/charger and then press the reset button on the bottom. that isnt handy to do when im on the move.... one is meant to do that only when putting the fitbit away for storage. i believe that resetting it will lose all of the stored data that has not been sync'd. how do you turn yours off? :*carolyn. Guest guest
No I don't remember getting a belt clip. I wear it on my bra (in the middle) but I'm bigger busted than you other women so that's probably why it won't stay on. I was hoping someone would give me more suggestions..... Putting it inside where my boobs are won't work because I won't get an accurate count that way. Jen > I wonder how I can get the extra clip for my fitbit? I wear it on my bra (in > the middle) but I'm bigger busted than you other women so that's > probably why it won't stay on. damn, they must have come out with the belt clip after you bought yours i wonder if you can contact them and ask for one? they say that they are planning on selling the charging unit separately so people can have two, i dont see why they cant sell the clip thingy as well. i wore it on my sports bra for tennis yesterday. it did not fall off and the belt clip protected the fitbit from sweat, but i had a lump in the middle of my chest. so far i prefer to not use the fitbit itself as a clip, nor do i like to use the belt clip. their design for clipping is not good and i can totally see how they would both break from doing that. it is best for me to put it in my pocket and attach it to my pocket with the omron clip. the omron clip is attached to the fitbit with a thick hair band. > I was hoping someone would give me more suggestions..... when i dont have pockets, this what im going to do: get a hair band and put it into the forks of the fitbit... make sure the hair band is thick enough so that it fits tightly in there - double it up if you have to. then put the hair band underneath your bra strap, loop the fitbit through it and tighten. you can then tuck the fitbit in (under the bra strap, or into the top of the cup area) so that it doesnt flop around. hope this make sense, i will try to take pic, :*carolyn.
