Guest guest
Hi again I posted not long ago about my daughter having developed urinary incontinence whilst doing AC chelation. I have treated for yeast increased probiotics decreased carbs blah blah nothing is working!!! Its having a massive and negative impact on my daughter and indeed the whole family. We can't go anywhere as she keeps peeing herself its really upsetting. Someone mentioned in passing last time that this is sometimes a side effect a detox experienced in AC chelation can anyone shed any further light on this? We saw Dr Goyal and he has ordered various tests and she is now taking nystatin he too mentioned it may be detox. Any further info ie how long does this last for what else can she take that may help most gratefully received Sorry for the essay but am feeling really depressed its really affecting the whole families quality of life Emma and Sophie
Guest guest
Does she have an impaction? Has her urine been tested for a bladder infection? Hope things get better very soon. Guest guest
Hi Emma,Sorry to hear I cannot comment on AC chelation in terms of if/when side effects should pass, but that sounds like something (detox? Or ALA itself, or some of the other sups) messed up ANS function – parasympathetic control of bladder probably (see PSC towards bottom http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parasympathetic_nervous_system) How is she apart from that? Is she on any other sups or meds at the moment?See attached on various rx stuff used for urinary incontinence – mostly stronger meds but a few not-so-scary-sounding things also get a mention, including vinpocetinehttp://www.vrp.com/brain-health/vinpocetine-cognitive-enhancers-role-expands-to-incontinence-and-epilepsy Apparently it helps urinary incontinence through PDE-1 inhibition. Another natural PDE-1 inhibitor is luteolin! Also u/c can be caused by Vit D deficiency – not sure if this could be the reason though, if chelation could cause Vit D deficiency ??HthNatasa Reply-To: "Autism-Biomedical-Europe " <Autism-Biomedical-Europe >Date: Mon, 02 Jul 2012 20:34:58 -0000To: "Autism-Biomedical-Europe " <Autism-Biomedical-Europe >Subject: Pee again sorry Hi again I posted not long ago about my daughter having developed urinary incontinence whilst doing AC chelation. Guest guest
Hi Emma, While increased urination can mean that the bladder is trying to move things out quickly because the metals, it sounds to me like there's more going on with your daughter. We've done a lot of AC chelation in the house, but the increase in urination isn't completely out of control. More like peeing twice as often. Is it only on rounds? Or is there a pattern? Guest guest
Hi Emmawe have had big problems with peeing out of control in the past with chelation, yes sure it was the chelation and big detoxing but like you say it is very upsetting. I stopped chelation for a few weeks and it calmed down so we knew then! we then lowered the dose for next rounds. It maybe worth checking urine, dipstick test at your Doctors just to check it is not infection of any sort. hope it gets sorted and calms down soon for your daughter, Di To: Autism-Biomedical-Europe Sent: Wednesday, 4 July 2012, 2:19 Subject: Re: Pee again sorry Hi Emma, While increased urination can mean that the bladder is trying to move things out quickly because the metals, it sounds to me like there's more going on with your daughter. Guest guest
Hi there, I remember Dr Shaw talking about oxalates at the Autism conference in 2010- he mentioned that high levels of oxalates can cause frequent urination. Oxalates can be high in kids with candida – add this to the fact that oxalates react with mercury more than any metal then perhaps there is a link? I know you must be at your wits end but here is what I would suggest: Get a pee sample in a glass and see if you can see any crystals settling at the bottom – not a definitive test but worth a try – there is of course the organic acid test which can show levels of oxalates.Stay away from high oxalate foods – e.g spinach, soy, nuts etc and add the following: 100mg of p5p daily – this help reduce the formation of oxalates1000mg of Calcium citrate with meals– this can help oxalate absorption in GI tract. The following link http://www.greatplainslaboratory.com/home/eng/oxalates.asp discusses other options which may be worth a try I wish you the best and sincerely hope this is of some help to you and your daughter. x
Guest guest
We do LOD with , oxalates do cause frequent urination but also rage and pain. Some supps are very high oxalate ie Milk Thistle. Be careful of recommended supps on LOD though, we cannot give calcium here before meals for absorption, or at any time really and didn't do too well on P5P either, as with everything it's very individual but I can definitely say that oxalate's were quite a big problem here for many years without me realising. LOD list is brilliant in any case, oxalate problem or not, wonder if Owens would ever be at a TA conference, wittering now.
