Guest guest
Hi Jayne I spoke with my friend who's son used to be a bit of an escape artist and she recommended you speak to Social Services (OT dept.) about a Disabled Facilities Grant which can pay for adaptations needed to keep your child safe. She used it to install high security windows that her son couldn't open. SS told her initially that this grant can't be used for outside adaptations, but she later found this to be untrue. I hope this is of some use to you, best of luck. Tonia
Guest guest
Have missed the past few days, so someone may have said this, but I believe you can get a tag that alerts after the child has gone outwith a certain distance from the base unit? It can be ur on the child's wrist. I imagine since its for the child's safety it would be something he cannot remove easily, but have no direct experience of this. When we did not want our son to get into his sisters bedrooms or the scullery where the fridge was with dairy items, we put high locks, loop and hook bolts, that he could not reach. Ow he is taller, I have considered attaching a windchime to the kitchen door, to alert me to its being opened, but have not needed to so far. Maybe a combination of the two?
