Guest guest
Hi, for those not on facebook, all 4 of our boys had their tonsils removed on Tuesday as suggested by Dr Goyal. It was a very long, hard day seeing all 4 through the anaesthetic room and then post op when they were all pretty miserable. They were eating by the next day and are actually quite ok now considering although not up to doing very much and we are in quarantine in the house for 10 days to avoid infections so another week to go. I may have an oxygen concentrator to sell on in a few weeks if anyone is interested as hopefully we won't need it anymore. I bought it for £800 in March from pure 02. It seemed a cheaper option than £50 a week rental from Breakspears. I will update any progress/changes in the boys from hopefully eradicating the strep. Two of the boys probably also had sleep apnoea as their tonsils were so enormous and this can cause ADHD type symptoms. My little one as a bonus had his glue ear drained (again!) and grommets inserted again, last time (age almost 2)he started talking afterwards so I am sure this will also help in addition to the tonsillectomy. We don't know what his strep levels were as I didn't want to subject him to blood tests but as he has already had two bouts of tonsilitis this year so far, it seemed the sensible option for him too bearing in mind the other 3 all had elevated levels.
