Guest guest
I agree on your point, however Dr G did not raise an alarm on this. My son was initially on 500mg which we then reduced to 250mg and he did say breaking the tab should be fine as long as the division is regular.VarunTo: Autism-Biomedical-Europe From: oscar_barba_uk@...Date: Wed, 18 Jul 2012 11:16:31 +0000Subject: Re: Valaciclovir Hi, although cost effective, I would not recommend breaking a tablet in half as it will change the rate of absorption from the gut-as this is a prodrug I would be concerned about stomach acid stability. The eccipients in the tablet ensure the rate of dissolution of the active ingredient as designed. By cutting in half the part exposed will not be coated and affect the aborption. apologies if it is not too clear > > OMG, thats amazing. It's half the price. Guest guest
Is it not fine to break in half as long as a tablet has a dividing (measuring?) line in the middle?. Also these are not coated… Natasa Reply-To: "Autism-Biomedical-Europe " <Autism-Biomedical-Europe >Date: Wed, 18 Jul 2012 12:25:00 +0100To: "Autism-Biomedical-Europe " <Autism-Biomedical-Europe >Subject: RE: Re: Valaciclovir I agree on your point, however Dr G did not raise an alarm on this.
