Guest guest
I would suggest to get 500mg tablets prescription with the dose specified as as 1/2 tablet 3 times a daily. The price for 500mg and 200mg tablets are mysteriously similar to benefit the Pharmaceutical companies. This will reduce your cost by approximately 50%. However, you should be comfortable in breaking the tablets in 2 even parts.See the distributor prices for Valtrex below :Valtrex® (GSK) Tablets, f/c, valaciclovir (as hydrochloride) 250 mg, net price 60-tab pack = £123.28; 500 mg, 10-tab pack = £20.59, 42-tab pack = £86.30.I remember somebody (think Mandi) specifying the generic versions are cheaper. That can be another option to bring down your cost.VarunTo: Autism-Biomedical-Europe From: neno@...Date: Tue, 17 Jul 2012 11:54:50 +0100Subject: Re: Valaciclovir it would be cheaper at assetchemist http://www.assetchemist.co.uk/ Natasa > Anyone else's child on this? > We need to do 250mg three times a day. > Been quoted for two months worth £418 from asda. > I assume this is the right amount roughly. > > Kirsty > > Sent on the go

Guest guest
Hi, although cost effective, I would not recommend breaking a tablet in half as it will change the rate of absorption from the gut-as this is a prodrug I would be concerned about stomach acid stability. The eccipients in the tablet ensure the rate of dissolution of the active ingredient as designed. By cutting in half the part exposed will not be coated and affect the aborption. apologies if it is not too clear > > OMG, thats amazing. It's half the price. Guest guest
Thank you! After ordering the 500mg instead of the 250mg and doing it online, the cost went from £418 to £113! A serious difference!!! Goyal should be sending ALL his patients here Kirsty Sent on the go
Guest guest
Why is it not fine? Goyal has emailed me himself yesterday and told me to do it this way and I just asked the online pharmacy and they said to do it too? Kirsty X > > > > OMG, thats amazing. It's half the price. Guest guest
HiThe only way I can get my dd to take valtrex is by blending it down in the vitamix blender with some juice. Would this have a detrimental effect, so much so that it would be best not to give it at all?BWKathSent from my iPad Hi, although cost effective, I would not recommend breaking a tablet in half as it will change the rate of absorption from the gut-as this is a prodrug I would be concerned about stomach acid stability. Guest guest
No I meant to say I was told that that tablets should not be halved quartered etc unless they have a dividing line (or cross) on them.Having said that we did divide 500mg valacyclovir in two and worked fine that way, I cannot remember if it had the line?? (they were always different generic brands, none was coated from what I can remember)Natasa Reply-To: "Autism-Biomedical-Europe " <Autism-Biomedical-Europe >Date: Wed, 18 Jul 2012 14:05:33 -0000To: "Autism-Biomedical-Europe " <Autism-Biomedical-Europe >Subject: Re: Valaciclovir Why is it not fine? Guest guest
Rose is on it Kirsty, along with Imunivor and her sleep has got better (just jinxed myself - you watch). We started at 500mg twice a day for 3 months and now have dropped to 250mg twice per day ongoing. I'm v.lucky as GP prescribes mine. Letter from Dr G did the trick. Good luck Esme x To: Autism-Biomedical-Europe Sent: Tuesday, 17 July 2012, 11:10 Subject: Valaciclovir Anyone else's child on this? We need to do 250mg three times a day.
