Guest guest
> I would keep it if it > weren't for being on VHS. I'm getting rid of all VHS regardless. i have some of the old firm tapes that you have been doing, and can try to put them on dvd+r for you if you would like. it is something ive been meaning to do anyway, however it would take a while for me to get the job done. or, like joy posted, you can look into getting a place to do them for you. maybe she will share the coupon she found.... what are you going to do with your old tapes? :*carolyn. Guest guest
I have a DVD/VHS recorder and I tried copying every one that I wanted to keep and it wouldn't copy. I remember people saying that most were copy protected. Thanks so much for offering to copy them, but I have to ask... What do you have that allows you to be able to do it? ~~ Sent from my Verizon Wireless 4GLTE smartphone----- Reply message -----To: <exercisevideos >Subject: copy vhs to dvdDate: Thu, Feb 2, 2012 10:21 am > I would keep it if it> weren't for being on VHS. Guest guest
> What do you have that allows you > to be able to do it? i rip from vhs directly to my computer. i hook up a video capture device to the vcr and then to the computer. i start up some software on my computer that interacts with the capture device. press play on the vcr and wait for the tape to play through. whatever the capture device gets from the vcr is stored into a file on my computer. since this is a capture through playing, and not a copy, any protection on the tape doesnt have an impact. i have had one instance of the sound not being sync'd with the video but if i mess around with delays then i can get it to mesh. i did convert about 27 taebo tapes to my computer without any issues. i have a whole rubbermaid bin of tapes that i want to convert... just waiting to get the time to get them all done. :*carolyn. I liked a lot of the others but not enough to do them again, probably. I wouldn't be smart enough to be able to do the converting you're talking about lol. *~~*
Guest guest
It's not hard at all - you match the color plugs' males to the same color females on the vhs player, usb goes to your laptop. The software looks similar to Windows Media player. Hit record to record once you hit play on the machine. Voila, a video file for you! Putting it on to the actual dvd is another step that gets a teensy bit more complicated, but not really:download SoThink dvd media maker for free add the file to the menu, create the menu (it's self explanatory), hit " burn " You can convert all .avi files like this to .iso (=dvd ready) files.
