Guest guest
michelle and judy have slayed me with their step counts this past week! On the leader board it says I'm ranked #4 and the guy ranked #1 has got in 147,000 steps. How in the world? Carolyn, do you count your workouts as your steps too? If I didn't I wouldn't have as many. *~~*

How in the world? * i saw that!!! he is one of your friends. i am also wondering how he did that! > *Carolyn, do you count your workouts as your steps too? If I > didn't I wouldn't have as many. yes i do ! i wear the fitbit 24/7 no matter what im doing. everything counts! if i workout, then i go and add an activity RECORD for that time period, so i can see the number of steps/cals/distance/etc that it accumulated during that specific workout time. i see that you allow the fitbit to count your steps/etc during your workout, which is great. but then you go and add an activity LOG for the workout. this practice is actually adding the calories for those logs to your totals, in addition to what the fitbit has recorded for the same time period, so you are double counting in those instances. it probably is not double counting your steps when you do that though, because most activities that you are logging manually do not allow you to enter steps for them. (unless you manually enter the WALKING activity and use the 'duration' box to enter step count). normally you would only add an activity LOG for your workout if you forgot to wear your fitbit during that time. so, in summary, if you have your fitbit on while you are doing a workout, then just add an activity RECORD instead of an activity LOG. if you dont wear your fitbit during a workout, then add an activity LOG to have the counts for your workout added to your totals. if you want to add an activity LOG for an activity that the fitbit did not monitor, and you want to enter an estimation of your steps for that activity, then create the activity log with the supplied WALKING activity. it is confusing, i know!!! :*carolyn. OR if you remember to press the button when you start your workout, and remember to press the button when you finish your workout, fitbit will create an activity record for you. all you have to do is go to the website and add a description to the record. :*carolyn. Guest guest
I wear my gowearfit 24 hours a day, during workouts, daily activities. Mine has a timer that goes off to remind me to get up and move every hours. I try to get in at least 1000+ steps per hour, go for walks, and do whatever DVD is lined up for the day. I don't add anything in manually, I don't know if it is possible with my system. > *On the leader board it says I'm ranked #4 and the guy ranked #1 > has got in 147,000 steps. Guest guest
Mine has a timer that goes off to remind me to get up and move every hours That's an awesome feature. I looked in to one of those. I told myself that if the fitbits don't work out that I would get one of those. Has it been pretty good as far as not messing up or breaking? *~~*
