Hi

I have 3 sons (two NT), my 4 year old DS has autism with lots of sensory issues, he's on a strict diet (Gluten/wheat/yeast/lactose/soya free) he cannot tolerate bananas and certain fruit. I give him fish oil but no other supplements, the diet has helped alot with his hyperactivity and stims but I am now looking into CEASE therapy. Could any body advise me on this, I am based in Surrey and looking for a local practitioner. I have applied for funding from caudwell and I am still waiting to hear back from them.

My DS has been diagnosed by an Ed Psychologist as being severley affected by his autism but of normal intelligence??, as he is now verbal (after staring ABA therapy and the diet 6 months ago) but she wont specify if he is severely autistic, Do you think it would be worth me getting him privately assessed? He does stim alot mostly squeezing his hands, grimacing and making babbling sounds even though he is now verbal. He stims alot if there are alot of people in the house or if he is excited.

I am also in the process of going to tribunal to get ABA funding/ABA School. Does any body have any experience of this?

Any advice would be really appreciated

Thanks in advance

I agree. You really need someone to support you at the meeting.Margaret>> You need an advocate and so does your child/ren. check out your local disability organisations, and children's organsiations and ask if they have any advocates that would help you.> I used one when my dd was small, and it really helped us battle with the education dept. Different issues but you need someone in your corner. We got a retired solicitor. good luck.> x> Tetanus immunisation - social care assessment> > > > I know you all say no question is a silly question but this one does feel silly:-> > For those who are doing CEASE therapy to remove immunisations, what is the purpose?> > We are being put under pressure to give DS extra immunisations because some of her antibody levels are low. She is really pushing for the tetanus. I have told her that our choice is not to give any immunisations at the moment.> > Today I got a phone call from the GP practice nurse saying they had received letter from the consultant asking them to give various jabs. I politely explained no thanks - the Dr is aware of our decision on this and the

nurse said BUT THE HAS ASKED US TO DO IT. I replied and we - her parents have made the decision of no thank you./> > I feel like I'm treading on egg shells as we have just been subject to child protection investigation initiated by hospital on grounds of possible induced and fabricated illness. The outcome after core assessment is that despite been asked no evidence at all has been provided to back up allegations and safe guarding manager would not accept this referral for case conference as did not feel it met child protection criteria. We have been monitored for last few months at child in need level.> > I now feel that this consultant is using a bullying approach thinking we might be scared. There is no way we are giving any immunisations. We are doing Yasko and metals are pouring out of both kids.> > I don't actually think DS will be any different to other kids her age. She had all her original

immunisations. Other kids at 10 are not checked and I suspect lots of their levels will be waining.> > Just though I should understand insight of what many are doing with CEASE and why.> > We have our ist child in need meeting on Friday - not looking forward to it. is under a number of hospital consultants and feel theres a conspiracy going on. Just trying to get prepared in my head - not that I'm going to share any non mainstream stuff with them ever again.> > Alison R>
