Guest guest
Thanks Pat for updating us. So sorry about you having to lose one of the kidneys. I have heard of patients doing fine with just the remainaing kidney. Good news the pain subsiding quickly and hospital stay only 2 days. Sounds like a successful procedure. wishing you continued success with recovery. peace and healing, Ebony

Guest guest
yes, the dr called me today with the results...It was renal cell carcinoma but was contained in the kidney so since he removed my kidney all should be ok..........He was very positive sounding and I am doing wonderful......I am anxious to get copies of all the medical records and read them......thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts........ Guest guest
I don't recognize you but I'm sure glad you're on your way to recovery. Not knowing what led up to finding the problem with your kidney, I will just say from recent experience, your lucky it was found in time. I think with RA I am so use to feeling bad and I've gotten very good about second guessing myself as to whether I'm really sick or just another flare. I posted over a week ago that I hurt all over and thought it was the Methotrexte withdrawal, my Rheumy had taken me off 6 weeks before. I tried to call, but got the run around, so after 5 days of feeling miserable I took the methotrexate, knowing it would take a while for it to take effect. Last Thursday evening and night I felt so bad, I actually had nightmares that I was dying. On Friday I called and got in to see my Internist. The nurse said she thought it was a medicine withdrawal as I had no fever and was obviously uncomfortable and in pain. After a very through exam, I have Strep and sever bronchitis, both lungs, the left much worse with probably some pneumonia. They gave me a breathing treatment in the office, a shot of steroids, a shot of antibodies and sent me home with 4 prescriptions. He told me not to inject the Humira this week, cancel my elective LEEP surgery for next Tues. drink a lot of fluids, take Tylenol, aspirin or whatever for the pain and he thought I'd feel better by Monday, otherwise I should call. I DIDN'T KNOW I WAS SICK!!! That is very scary for me. Hey, I'm 59 years young and I've raised 4 children. As I am beginning to feel better, I'm finding it scary to be as sick as I think I was and really not know it because I'm so use to being sick, fatigued and have pain all over. The Dr thought all the pain was probably from the strep and everything above my waist was the bronchitis. I haven't been coughing, a dry cough occasionally, I guess that was part of the problem. I needed to cough so I am taking a cough syrup to make me cough. I am glad you were able to find your problem before it spread, as I said, I now think it's so easy to miss things because of the big pictures. Guest guest
hi there Colleen: I do not post often but try to keep up with everyone's posts. I am 55 and was diagnosed with RA about 3-4 years ago and have Fibro too. I know what you mean about feeling bad so much that it is hard to tell when you are sick...........they found my tumor quite by chance as I had this horrible pain in my right side that I knew was something new..........my boss actually sent me to Urgent Care from work one day as I was crying with the pain. Dr thought it was gall bladder and ordered ultrasound and then ct scan and saw the tumor on left kidney. Guess I passed the kidney stone I had on right side as pain went away in a couple days.....................so I feel blessed that the cancer was found. We just have to get to know our bodies and try to know when the symptoms are somehow different..............I was lucky to get a good dr at Urgent Care (turned out to be my mom's dr)............... Hang in there and I hope you will be feeling better soon........ Gentle Hugs Pat in So. Ore. cmcpherson <cmcpherson@...> wrote: I don't recognize you but I'm sure glad you're on your way to recovery.
