Hi

Tom doing fine with Goyal and we're considering next step which would be ALA.

apart from the months of broken sleep has anyone any experiences with ALA they

would share with me on or off line? We know he's still very mercury toxic, we've

shifted a lot of lead over the years but think its time to get stuck into the

mercury. He's doing pretty well on antivirals which we expected to be bumpy.

TIA

How long has he been on antivirals and how long do you plan to do them? If its only a couple of months then I would wait a while before starting chelation proper

He's nearing the end of month two on valacyclovir. One month to go - although

imagine it will be a regular thing for Tom. Would be great to do some during the

holidays but might be better to wait I guess. Getting in middle of night seems

less grim in the summer!

5mg 3 hourly day, 4 hourly night, one stays up till midnight while the othger goes to bed early, then that one gets up at 4.00am and the other one does 7.00am if you ever get to lay in.

Practice night dosing before you start, Candex. probio's or just water, do it when you go to bed every night so he gets used to it before you start, used lidded cup, sports bottle or syringe, no need to wake him up, swallow is a reflex. Tell him you will give small drink in the night and no need to wake, don;t turn th elight on, use nightlight so you can see where to aim

Thanks. That's v low dose - he's heavy enough for 10mg, would you think 5mg to

be on safe side? Can't risk regression x

Always start with 5mg unless the sums come to less than 5mg IMHO, doubling dose does not double excretion but can increase side effects, you'll be at this a while, needs to be tolerable for all

That's good to know. He's so much healthier than he was in many ways that my

hope is that he'll cope ok but if higher dose doesn't equal higher pull I'd

rather be safe x
