Hello peopleI am posting on behalf of a mum in desperate need of help and ideas of how to get one of her twin 4 year old boys eating. The boys are under the care of Dr G and he thinks the problem may be allergy related. The boys were put on the GCSF free diet approx 6 months ago. Initially mum saw an improvement in the boys eating and both expanded their diet. However now one of the boys has began restricting again and is eating even less than before. Both boys are being treated for strep with Zithromax and yeast with Difflucan and sac B. They are on various nutritional supplements, probiotics, B12 and i think have just started supplemental lithium. The inflammation markers (ESR) on the last bloods were 38.Her son appears to be hungry at meal times but after two mouthfuls of food he cries and pushes the food away. The only thing this child is eating is Organix crisps and rice cakes. Thankfully the child is at least taking supplements and amazingly is a healthy weight.I have copied and pasted below part of an email this mum sent to me which explains in her own words the history and extent of the problem. Maybe there are some clues everyone has missed so far?* my boys couldnt make the transition to "normal" food. I made all their food as babies (they have never had a jar of baby food or any kind of processed food). I used belle Carmel baby cook books and the boys pretty much ate anything I made (whilst it was still the pureed stuff). They were able to make the transiton to things like Pasta with smooth sauce or spagetti bolognaise witht he mince still pureed and the spagetti broken up into little pieces. When i started to try things like homemade fish fingers and vegetable chips or chicken breast cut up with pieces of veg they just were not interested. They only liked the wet meals like spag bol and fish pie. They usually just had different kinds of homemade soup for lunch with a piece of toast cut into little squares. I was never able to move them on from these slightly pureed wet meals and this is still what they eat. A year and half ago **** just gradually started eating less and less spoonfuls of food until he first stopped lunch then dinner then breakfast. All he would eat was dry cheerios (which i sometimes gave him at breakfast with a cup of milk as he wouldnt eat them together) and pots of ambrosia custard which i used to give him as a littel pudding after his dinner. These were the only 2 things he would touch. Both boys still spoon fed by me as they wont do it themselves, they dont really have much desire for food so not really going to feed themselves. We managed to get **** eating a little again by throwing out all cheerios and custard and kind of holding him till he tasted food. He took to it ok for a little while but never ate large amounts. Now he is reducing what he eats at each meal again. Only foods he wants are organix apple rice cakes, organix crisps and fruit flakes although he is stopping them too.Thats pretty much it. He gags if i manage to force anything into his mouth (i refuse to force the situation now tho as only going to give him fear of food doing it that way). Just dont know how to get him to put something in his mouth and chew it. He will not even keep in mouth long enough to get taste, its spat straight out. Like i said i am going to try juicing but have to give it like a medicine to start. Id try Homeopathy if i though it would help. I am keen to learn more about Homeopathy but just dont have time to research just now. Thanks in advance for any replies i can forward on to help!!Lis :-) xx
