Guest guest
Hi Robin: After something like that, you certainly deserve a good vent and rant! I loved Ebony's likening it to the Twilight Zone - how true! Sometimes there are glitches between doctor's offices, but we do have to check our own appointments, within a couple of weeks of the appointment, to make sure it all goes through. The people in the offices are fallible, and we need to take more interest in our appointments than do other people, because when we schedule an appointment with a rheumy, it might be months from today. Check and recheck if you have to. I am not saying that this was your fault - no way - they goofed up; however, knowing that they do goof up from time to time has made me more likely to make double sure, if necessary, that I do have that appointment on that day at that time. By all means, send written and verbal complaint to both offices, maybe that will keep them more on their toes, for a while, and no doubt they will then slip back into their former slipshod behavior. This is not true for all doctor's offices, I have been lucky most of the time and everything has gone well, but all of us have our days, and I guess they do too. I can only imagine your disappointment, anger, and frustration at not getting to see the doctor. You had all the hopes we all have of a final diagnosis - tell us the monster's name that is tearing our lives apart -and you were unable to get that. Maybe it will be a long fight until you do, but hopefully the next appointment will set you on your way to proper treatment. I sure will be praying for you that this will be the case. You are welcome to come here and vent anytime - we all have - and it does make one feel better to talk with someone who knows how it is, and what it means to us when an appointment is messed up, because of the diseases we suffer from. Take care - and know you are not alone - Kathe in CA __________________________________________________
Guest guest
I am always called (by computer) to remind me of the date and time of my doctor appointments. Even so, I can still get it messed up, LOL. I recently had an appointment with my rheumy at 11:30. I had it written correctly on my calendar, and I got the usual computer phone call. But I got it in my head that the appointment was at 10:30, and got there at 10:15. I pleaded " Senior Moment, " but the nurse said they call something like that " a brain f**t. " They did get me in before 11:30, which I appreciated.
