Guest guest
As some fo you will remember we had tonsillectomies for all our 4 sons with autism in early May as 3 of the boys had been on Zithro since before Christmas and 's levels of strep double to 800 while on it. By 800 he was in a constant rage and we were finding it hard to keep the school/taxi escort etc on our side due to his appalling temper. Anyway, the smallest (Marcus, now 4) is fine, he had alreday had two bouts of tonsilitis since Christmas and certainly he was the best age for the op of the 4 of them and was running around happily days later. We didn't check his strep levels as we wanted him to have the op anyway and as a bonus he got some more grommets inserted and glue ear cleared up! His tutors were amazed the next week at how clear his language suddenly was. 's (10) behaviour has changed hugely, he can still be volatile but is so much happier and less angry than before, he used to say 'I don't know why I get so cross'. We haven't checked his strep levels again but the difference in his personality is fantastic. The twins' (13) levels were 400 so not as bad so the difference has not been as noticable as with . I wish I had had the op done when they were all much younger though as it was painful for them for a week or so whereas Marcus was well in a few days. We are now embarking on a mitochondrial support programme which starts at low dosages and increases fortnightly. Has anyone else done this or doing it now?
