Lynda,

RA will show up in x-rays if the erosion is severe enough to be seen.

In early stages of RA, the damage may only show by MRI. X-Rays

will show similar bone changes of the joint in both RA and OA, but in RA

the loss of bone may not be localized to just the joint. I can show

more damage

all around the joint due to the synovial lining being inflamed.

Thank you a! I really appreciate your help on this. My primary

doc had some xrays done of my hands and neck (she said she didn't need

to check my feet, which have also been giving me problems, yet). The

neck results apparently show " mild " arthritis, and the hand ones show

" no damage. " I'm grateful for results like that, of course, but kind

of wondering if I should push for an MRI--sounds like I probably should.

And thanks so much for the link!

You're welcome Lynda. Be sure to check the link that sent.

Her link is much better as it shows detailed images of the

differences between OA and RA. I hope you continue to show

no erosions.
