Guest guest
OOh - poor Chinook! He is a Malamute, right? I love Malamutes......maybe my next dog! Shenan though is doing great - she is around 10 or 11 and going deaf these days - but thankfully has been super healthy since her surgery this fall!! I so regret trading the cardio and the yoga/Pilates workouts from Project YOU! I kept the weight workouts at least. This is a good system!!!Donna Subject: PY: day 3: pilates/yogaTo: "ExercisevideosYahoogroups (DOT) Com" <exercisevideos >Date: Thursday, February 23, 2012, 8:21 AM was looking forward to just doing pilates and yoga for day 3 (wednesday) instead of cardio or weights.however the pilates was hard because my abs were sore from doing all of the crunches in the upper body workout on tuesday. i did my best, but could have gotten alot more out of the pilates if my abs werent pre-fatigued.i hadnt done pilates in a long time and i enjoyed it and thought it was a good routine. kathy did not do the workout, but walked around giving alot of instructions and form pointers, which is totally understandable because of the technicalities of pilates. you can tell that kathy really likes pilates, her instructions were quite good, except she comes up with silly names for some things. she goes on about bikini bum (or something like that) and 'mouse house'... what?? oh, bikini bum means that she wants you to tighten your glutes, while mouse house means she wants you to suck in your abs... LOL....OK.next week, im going to skip all of the crunches on the ball in the upper body workout so that i can do better the next day at pilates. pilates is more my thing than ab crunches anyway.after pilates i did the yoga routine which was really good for me. not a fast routine and not difficult to do but the stretches felt great, especially the mermaid at the end and the hamstrings get hit alot too.then i hit the hot tub for 30 mins and it was glorious. my left quad is still bugging me a bit and i figured out that i had banged it hard at work last weekend and that is probably why, although there is no bruise. hmmm, not sure, but i gave it a good massage in the hot tub and that seemed to help.after that i went to the deli for bonus walking.... 9200 steps worth!scheduled for today is walking and lower body/abs. i will do the lower body this morning, the walking will be done at the deli again this afternoon.oh, just remembered lower body will have to wait a bit while i de-skunk chinook... he harassed a skunk in our yard last night and i was too tired to deal with it so i went to bed... i will regret that as it will be harder to get out, but i just couldnt face it last night.:*carolyn. Guest guest
Great workout, Carolyn!! Sorry to hear about the skunk though! We've got a possum that keeps nosing around our backyard, eating bird seed the birds drop from our feeders. ugly thing that is but harmless at least. When the kids were little, we had two small skunks that would visit on a nightly basis for a long time. Having no dog to harrass them, we just watched from safely inside the house. I nicknamed them Miriam & which amused me to no end but did not thrill my kids! :-) (poking my head in for a few) PY: day 3: pilates/yoga was looking forward to just doing pilates and yoga for day 3 (wednesday) instead of cardio or weights.however the pilates was hard because my abs were sore from doing all of the crunches in the upper body workout on tuesday. i did my best, but could have gotten alot more out of the pilates if my abs werent pre-fatigued.i hadnt done pilates in a long time and i enjoyed it and thought it was a good routine. kathy did not do the workout, but walked around giving alot of instructions and form pointers, which is totally understandable because of the technicalities of pilates. you can tell that kathy really likes pilates, her instructions were quite good, except she comes up with silly names for some things. she goes on about bikini bum (or something like that) and 'mouse house'... what?? oh, bikini bum means that she wants you to tighten your glutes, while mouse house means she wants you to suck in your abs... Guest guest
Great job Carolyn! I did both the Pilates and yoga from PY before and had trouble with it so I got Austins Pilates/Yoga assist bar (I forgot the "real" name for it) so when I do these on Sunday I will use it again. I remember it did help me A LOT. I should take a picture of it and show you. Sorry about the skunk spraying your dog. A few years ago when I went to our garbage bin to put in a bag of garbage..as I opened the door there was a skunk in the bin. I just stared at it because it looked so beautiful with it's black and white fur shining in the moon light...weird I know but true. Good thing he didn't spray me...I ran to my townhouse LOL. Guest guest
Oh that is funny! When we first moved in we had groundhogs/woodchucks - whatever they're called. My dog got rid of them, but not w/out suffering a few wounds....she had to have stitches several times due to the fights she would get into with them. It worked though, they are gone. She is a little killer - my DH caught her once w/ a squirrel in her mouth about to give it the 'death shake'! Guest guest
Wow, that's quite a dog!!! My husband wouldn't mind a dog chasing off (and possibly doing away with) a few of the squirrels and chipmunks around here (but I am secretly entertained by them)! :-) PY: day 3: pilates/yoga was looking forward to just doing pilates and yoga for day 3 (wednesday) instead of cardio or weights.however the pilates was hard because my abs were sore from doing all of the crunches in the upper body workout on tuesday. i did my best, but could have gotten alot more out of the pilates if my abs werent pre-fatigued.i hadnt done pilates in a long time and i enjoyed it and thought it was a good routine. kathy did not do the workout, but walked around giving alot of instructions and form pointers, which is totally understandable because of the technicalities of pilates. you can tell that kathy really likes pilates, her instructions were quite good, except she comes up with silly names for some things. she goes on about bikini bum (or something like that) and 'mouse house'... what?? oh, bikini bum means that she wants you to tighten your glutes, while mouse house means she wants you to suck in your abs... Guest guest
awww... chinook says woof in thanks for condolences on the skunk spraying. either he was lucky or getting smarter because he did not take it in the face this time but down one side of his body. much easier to remove, although i vote for him being lucky. he just cant resist those stinky 'cats'...LOL :*carolyn.
