PY: day 3: pilates/yoga

was looking forward to just doing pilates and yoga for day 3

(wednesday) instead of cardio or weights.

however the pilates was hard because my abs were sore from

doing all of the crunches in the upper body workout on tuesday.

i did my best, but could have gotten alot more out of the

pilates if my abs werent pre-fatigued.

i hadnt done pilates in a long time and i enjoyed it and

thought it was a good routine. kathy did not do the workout,

but walked around giving alot of instructions and form pointers,

which is totally understandable because of the technicalities of

pilates. you can tell that kathy really likes pilates, her

instructions were quite good, except she comes up with silly

names for some things. she goes on about bikini bum (or

something like that) and 'mouse house'... what?? oh, bikini bum

means that she wants you to tighten your glutes, while mouse

house means she wants you to suck in your abs... LOL....OK.

next week, im going to skip all of the crunches on the ball in

the upper body workout so that i can do better the next day at

pilates. pilates is more my thing than ab crunches anyway.

after pilates i did the yoga routine which was really good for

me. not a fast routine and not difficult to do but the

stretches felt great, especially the mermaid at the end and the

hamstrings get hit alot too.

then i hit the hot tub for 30 mins and it was glorious. my left

quad is still bugging me a bit and i figured out that i had

banged it hard at work last weekend and that is probably why,

although there is no bruise. hmmm, not sure, but i gave it a

good massage in the hot tub and that seemed to help.

after that i went to the deli for bonus walking.... 9200 steps

worth!

scheduled for today is walking and lower body/abs. i will do

the lower body this morning, the walking will be done at the deli

again this afternoon.

oh, just remembered lower body will have to wait a bit while i

de-skunk chinook... he harassed a skunk in our yard last night

and i was too tired to deal with it so i went to bed... i will

regret that as it will be harder to get out, but i just couldnt

face it last night.
