Guest guest
Oh, running sure DOES work the legs, you're doing the same motion over and over... I remember my legs being big time sore after my longer runs and they still do get sore to some extent but what fatigues now are my ankles and feet more than anything. Can't wait to hear about your outdoor running! Hi Everyone, Today's workout wasn't as bad as I thought it would be! It was Week 4, Workout # 1 from C25K: 5 min warm up 3 min jog 1.5 min walk 5 min jog 2.5 min walk 3 min jog 1.5 min walk 5 min jog Then, I kept walking until I hit 3.5 miles (under 40 minutes, I think..but not sure b/c I wasn't really paying that much attention. Cardio wise this isn't a problem for me, but I am surprised that my legs are feeling fatigued. It doesn't seem like all that much....I am doing it at a 2% incline b/c I think I read/heard somewhere that is simulates outdoor running...I do plan to run outdoors once we have some longer daylight hours, next month! WOO HOO! I also did a recorded Classical Stretch from Season 7. My right mid-back - around the ribs is really tight. I wonder if I over-did it when I did the Classical Stretch Core workout on Sunday - that one is one of the tougher CS routines. Hope everyone has a good day!Donna
Guest guest
My next fitness goal is to raise my running limit from 2 miles to 3 -- or about 5K. It's taken a lot of practice for me to find the " right " pace for me! If I go faster, my heart rate shoots up too high; if I go slower, I might as well be walking. I plan to reach the 3 mile mark, and then work on time. And, oh,yes! It gets you in the feet, ankles, knees and legs in general. Guest guest
This variation looks really fun. I wish treadmills didn't bore me so much because I'd have one, for sure. I do know that when I did have one it was much easier to run on then running outside. I would get really out of breath outside, but could run without stopping on the treadmill. Interesting about the incline feeling like being outside. My dad just went this past weekend looking at treadmills. I was looking at them too and my husband said " we've already been through that " . Meaning I sold the last TWO I had lol. ~~ Sent from my Verizon Wireless 4GLTE smartphone----- Reply message -----To: <exercisevideos >, <FitFirmies >Subject: Wed - Couch to 5k/Classical StretchDate: Wed, Feb 22, 2012 9:55 am Hi Everyone, Today's workout wasn't as bad as I thought it would be! Guest guest
I think it's really different too. Harder. I haven't been doing either kind. since outdoor runnig is different from indoor I will start w/ 3 min run/1.5 min walk.... For me, outdoor running is COMPETELY different. It seems much harder. ~*´¨ ¸ *.• ´¸.•*´¨ ¸.•*¨ ..•´ ¸ .*
Guest guest
This is really great Donna. You have some long jog segments. Hi Everyone,Today was Couch to 5K, Week 5, Workout # 1:5 min warm-up walk5 min jog3 min walk 5 min jog3 min walk5 min jogThen I continued to walk until I hit 3.5 miles. I like this pattern, so I may use it to get longer runs in. Workout # 2 for this week is something like 8 min run, 5 min walk, 8 min run and Workout # 3 has you running for 20 min. I know I can do it aerobically - hopefully the rest of my body will cooperate. Afterwards I did a recorded Classical Stretch episode. I'm still enjoying CS, but I think I'm going to mix some yoga in. I caved and purchased my first DVD of the year - Shiva Rea More Daily Energy - it has 7 20 min practices and is on the gentler side according to reviews. Not much else to report - rainy and dreary today - a good day to cuddle up and read!I'm not sure what is up for tomorrow - it is supposed to be a strength day and I may do some barre or I may do a that includes some toning. I think I will just see how I feel in the morning! Donna
