Guest guest
Thanks, , it was awesome to work out again! We only got about an inch of snow but it came fast & heavy, all in about an hour or so. It is fine out there now, but it was ugly earlier! Guest guest
Hi , Glad you got a chance to workout!!! It sure helps, doesn't it?Donna Subject: KCM Start Here Strength WorkoutTo: exercisevideos Date: Tuesday, February 21, 2012, 11:46 AM Woo hoo! I finally worked out! I did KCM 30 Minutes to Fitness Start Here workout 2 (the strength workout). It has been nearly a month since I tried to workout and it felt really good. This was a great workout to start back with, I'm so glad I got it. This workout is a simple strength workout. No combination moves but it alternates between upper and lower body exercises at a nice pace, not rushed but no time for rests either. I wasn't sure what weight to use, I wanted to be slow & safe so I went with 5s and decided I can go heavier for most exercises next time. She does 2 sets of 16 reps for most exercises. I think push-ups were only 2 sets of 10 though. I did all the pushups on my knees, I was concerned with how my chest would feel about those but during the workout and now it is fine. I'll see how I am tomorrow or Thursday but I think I should be good, thankfully. My foot was fine, there was not much foot movement except the warm-up, static lunges and alternating rear lunges, which is how I wanted to start. Tonight will be the test for that one (if it will be bad, it is usually at night). My only complaints about the workout are that there wasn't much in the way of abs except a table top move where you take one weight and bring it under the other arm then pull it back (supposed to work obliques), and her own version of superman (she called it superwoman) and the stretch didn't include quadriceps. My quads were kind of seizing up afterwards (that sounds too dramatic but I can't think of how to describe it, they just really needed stretching badly) so I stretched them on my own in the shower and again afterwards, now they're fine. Anyway, for a 30 minute workout, it was very nice and felt so good. KCM's cueing was a little off but not terribly, otherwise, she's really fantastic. I tried to get out to work this morning but we got it with very heavy snowfall just before I was supposed to leave. I left early but barely got out of my driveway, then as I was going down the road toward the highway everyone was turning around, obviously it was blocked by accidents or spinouts. I got stuck on ice as I tried turning around but then made it and went very slowly back to my house and called my meeting coordinators (I do all WW At Work meetings in 4 locations on Tuesdays) and told them I wouldn't be making it today! Out where I was headed, 20 miles away, was supposed to be even worse so I decided to play it safe. My boss and the coordinators were all good about it when I told them about my decision. So, now I'm home & after I send this I'm going to catch-up on some work I've been avoiding and then snuggling up with a book for a while too!
