for PY day 18 (thursday), i did a shorter walk than usual, then did pilates and yoga.

I wish I liked pilates because I know how good it is for the core, but I've tried it so many times and can't seem to get into it.

So how many steps did you get with your short walk?

dont worry, you are not the only one. many people do not like

pilates. i do enjoy it most of the time, but there are alot of

form points to remember and while it looks deceptively easy, it

is hard! 'they' say that if you go through a pilates workout and

it feels easy, then you are not doing it right. it takes

practice and if this is something that you dont enjoy practicing,

then skip it!

only a couple of thousand and there was a break when i stopped to

talk to a neighbour. oh well, not every walk or workout can be a

killer. i still ended the day with around 9K but most of that

was just doing housework and helping dh in his shop with a few

odd things.

so, kind of a rest day yesterday. i havent done anything so far

today... i had better get going!

I'm another one that doesn't love pilates. I've liked some of the workouts and I felt stronger in the core when I was doing them somewhat regularly but I don't love them so I fight with myself to include them too and often think about pitching all the ones I have and then I can't bring myself to do it because I don't strongly dislike them (but I don't strongly like them either) and they do work well. I think though, just doing your regular ab/core workouts is good enough, . Just because pilates emphasizes that area doesn't mean it is the "best" thing that will.

I have an intense dislike of pilates. That type of workout irritates me for some reason.

It's important to take rest days or do less than usual, otherwise your body will wear out. It's sometimes hard for me to remember this when I'm trying to get my step count up.Great job! I'm done with Kathy's yoga and Pilates after one time...it's too hard for me! I have other Kathy workouts I can try instead. im pretty sure that im done with PY pilates and yoga.... next

week i will be ready to substitute. i do have other kathy smith

pilates and yoga workouts so i will probably do one of those

instead. i also had a bunch of errands and stuff to do around

the house, so not a big workout for day 18, and my step count is

way lower, but that is OK! i needed a rest after such a big day

on wednesday.
