Wonderful! Yay for being able to do plank on your toes!

I looked at the clock at around 9:40 and thought, " Oh crap, I forgot I was going to do my Biggest Loser workout " but instead of not doing it at all, I just went ahead and did it.

I walked gently in place for 5 minutes (felt good, will try more tomorrow), then did regular plank on toes for 1 minute, side plank on each side on toes for 1 minutes each, regular crunches for 1 minute, reverse crunches for 1 minute and oblique crunches on each side for 30 seconds each (5 minutes of core work). After that it was 5 minutes of various kinds of stretches, all held for at least 30 seconds. So, 15 minutes of work, I feel much better for having done it. Go me!

I have FIRM Lower Body Sculpting down for tomorrow and am going to find it challenging to get it done but I'll try. My schedule has been so messed up this whole week from what I'd planned and tomorrow is too. I want to do it though and my foot is feeling better so I'm even more excited about doing something. It was really nice to be able to hold plank on my toes without any discomfort at all (next step is trying pushups on toes, I thought about it but didn't want to push it tonight).

Thanks! Unfortunately though, I woke up once in moderate pain last night. I'm not sure if it is related or not but if I remember, I'll ask my doc on Thursday about it.

Thanks! They didn't hurt then, it was so nice, but sure enough, I woke up once in pain. Not horrible, like it often is, but I did. I don't know if it was just the planks but probably was a combination. I drive a LOT on Tuesdays and it is my right foot that is affected. I've noticed that Tuesdays seem to be the most likely day (night) for me to have issues so I need to try the planks again on a Wednesday, when I'm not nearly as active as other days of the week and not do them on Tuesday (probably not this Wednesday though).

right toes/foot get that pinchy burning after i drive alot!

ive been trying to sit closer to the wheel so im pressing the gas

with more of my foot instead of just my toes. i was going to

mention it yesterday but thought it seemed kind of silly. but

it is so true!

I try to do the same thing driving too but I already sit almost on top of the darn steering wheel because I'm so short! :-)

Hmm... what other weird things can I come up with that might freak you out... well, like I said in another note, my heels on both feet are often sore (just achy, not burning) and my arch on my right foot too. The doc adjusted my orthotics today though and thought that would help (plus put me on prescription strength anti-inflammatory). He said it is related because that nerve where the neuroma is (it is between my 3rd & 4th toes) extends all the way along the foot. He said my foot in the area of the neuroma is still swollen too (and is definitely sensitive). Oooh, here's a good one... my toes "click" it seems like, especially when they neuroma is really hurting. If I kind of stretch my toes upward, I can feel a kind of clicking sensation but I don't remember if I hear anything audible, I don't think so though (my shoes are on so I can't check right now and it only does it when I'm really hurting I think).

Go ahead, mention your silly seeming symptoms and hopefully I won't be able to relate (and hopefully you don't feel any of the ones I mentioned above)! :-)

Oh my goodness, Carolyn!! You didn't make light of it at all!!! I was teasing you that you think your symptoms are silly and they are not!! It is important, I'm learning (again) that when things are not right to pay attention to them, don't just think they're silly, and if necessary, check them out. I was having fun along WITH you!! I don't want you to have any of the symptoms I have, I listed them so you'd be able to (hopefully) check them off saying "nope, not that!"

You are a wonderful, supportive friend and I appreciate your empathizing with me whether your feet hurt or whether they are fine (which I hope they are)!!

This will eventually pass. I have no idea when. In the meantime, I need to find a way to do sitting upper body work. My arms are starting lose the definition I was so proud of. My legs are still okay, surprisingly enough. I had to run a bunch of irritating errands this morning then I had lunch and now that I've eaten I can take one of the anti-inflammatory pills I got from the pharmacy (one of my errands) and thought I'd pop in here for a bit and now I MUST work on taxes, which I was supposed to do allllll day today. Oops.

Much hugs, you are awesome!!!

,

Having walked in your (orthopedic) shoes myself, part of me is wondering why

they have just gone ahead and operated on it. It could have been healed and over

with by now. I had two nerves cut with one surgery (one between my 2/3 toe and

one between my 3/4 toe), and I don't regret it in the least. I used to get some

really stabbing pains up my foot and leg, especially if I stepped on it wrong. I

was riding horses at the time, and remember stepping down and nearly collapsing

on the dismount when my sore foot touched the ground (a very unsafe place to

fall!!)

The surgery was a hassle for about 2 weeks, and it took about 4 more to get back

up to full speed, but I haven't had that problem since then.

Email me off list if you want to hear what all I went through with that. Foot

surgery is not as horrid as it sounds.
