Guest guest
I think scrapbooking and staying off your healing, happy feet is a good plan! I know pilates might not be your first pic but it's what I do when I have bad feet (I don't do the pointing and flexing parts but focus on the leg muscles for those exercises. Happy you are safe! Hugs We had some scary weather here this evening! Tornado warnings all around my area with touchdowns very near us and right where one of my friends lives (she, her husband, dog and house are fine, thankfully). Lots of damage but, so far at least, I haven't heard anything about injuries or deaths. This is unusual for March in Michigan as was the over 70 degree temps we had earlier in the day. On a much happier note, I also saw my footie doc today and he adjusted my orthotics yet again, plus had an assistant massage my very sore heels with an ultrasound to soothe the inflammation and gave me an anti-inflammatory shot (this time in my hip which doesn't hurt so much going in but sure does for days after on that site, at least I know it will fade). I am thrilled to say that my feet have not felt this good in weeks! I was so excited earlier today I literally wanted to go for a run (and I am not a runner) in the gorgeous sunshine we were having at that time but I forced myself not to. Last week I didn't want to walk anymore than I absolutely had to my feet hurt so much. I asked about the pain in my left foot (same area as right) and he said it was something he was concerned about but was pretty sure the adjustments and other measures he'd taken today would do a lot of good. I sure hope so. Tomorrow is my day off. I have to get some paperwork done very early in the morning, before the kids leave for school, then the rest of the day is mine. I'm scrapbooking the whole day I've decided. I got on a roll when I went to that retreat 2 weeks ago but then had to do taxes and work stuff and haven't been able to get back to it since so tomorrow is mine. After I workout that is! Not sure what I'm doing yet, but it definitely won't be high impact. I'm not sure it will last yet, so I definitely don't want to be totally stupid with not even 24 hours of feeling good! :-)

Guest guest
I was so surprised hearing about all the scary weather going on last night, too, around Ann Arbor and Lapeer, Mi. I'm in the Flint area, so we just got heavy rain. They were talking about all our odd weather on the radio, while I was doing my treadmill walk this a.m. I'm glad your friend and her family were safe. Hope your feet keep feeling better, too, and all the pain goes away and stays away. Ronda > > We had some scary weather here this evening! Guest guest
Pilates... actually not a bad idea for today, did lower body and upper body Tuesday and wanted to get in some core but didn't have time. I didn't think about the flexing and pointing. I had that in the stretch I did after the lower body workout and was concerned about doing that so just did a little, will skip it or just do very little if I do pilates today. I got up late, DD had a nosebleed (slight, just weather changes I think) at 4 AM and DH let me sleep in since I also have to get up early tomorrow for work, so my workout is delayed and will end up being short but I want to do something for sure). Guest guest
Everyone we know is safe. No one was seriously injured at all though 13 homes were destroyed and about 100 had damage. That sounds awful to get those shots in the hip so often! I slept good again last night, except waking up with DD who had a bit of a nosebleed at 4 AM. I walked around in barefeet then though and was afraid I'd be paying for it when I tried to go back to sleep (that's what happened about a month ago when DS was sick in the middle of the night and I was padding around without shoes) but all was well, thankfully. I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high that this might be the real deal but I am hopeful, anyway! Guest guest
Hi Ronda, We were suprised too! I saw we had a "significant weather advisory" (whatever that is) on my computer in the afternoon and then all of a sudden my son called me from his friend's house to say we're under a tornado warning! I turned on the TV to see my street on the weather radar screen as they're showing the general area where they thought the storms were moving! It never got this far, thankfully, but it was very scary. We're in Hamburg (between Brighton & Ann Arbor, just north of Dexter where the tornado hit). DH was in his car coming home from work in Ann Arbor and was about a mile from the area where the tornado was when I called him and begged him to find somewhere safe to pull over. He finally did (male that he is) when it was hailing and raining so hard he could hardly see and found one of the few gas stations in that area, it is pretty rural (he and a whole lot of other people he said were taking shelter there). I lived through a deadly tornado (an F4 for those who know tornadoes, this one hasn't been classified yet but I'm sure it wasn't that strong) when I was 9 and though I'm usually pretty good with handling bad storms now, this one came too close to home and I was about as scared as I've been in a very long time from a storm. (That F4 was the one that went through West Bloomfield, it hit my neighborhood but my house was okay, I know you didn't live here then but you might have heard about it on the news since they're talking tornadoes now.) Thanks for the good words about feet too, so far, today is very good and I am so thankful for it and the blessings that everyone was safe after the storms last night! Guest guest
Believe me, I know we were lucky, I saw my own street on channel 7 news as they were showing the path of the tornado as it was going on (we are very close to Dexter and at first it looked like it was coming towards us)! I was in the basement with Miriam, was at a friend's house down the street and my darling husband was on the road coming home about 1 mile from where it was touching down (I had him on the phone telling him to pull over somewhere safe and he finally found a gas station). We know a lot of people in Dexter too and at least one is still without power but other than that everyone is okay. From what I hear, people are really pulling together and helping each other out. We got an email late yesterday afternoon about a clean-up the church attends a youth group at (in Dexter) was putting together but we got the email too late and didn't try to go. If there is another one this weekend we will try to get over there. Very sad, very tough time for many. :-)
