It seems like the majority of those who post here are from Michigan LOL and there are a lot of Firmies here too :)I'm , 44, and I live in Portland, Oregon. I have lots of videos but am currently doing more strength work at the gym. I train with a bodybuilder once a week (www.noelfuller.com) and have a 15K next Sunday. I do great with workouts but need to lose a good 40 lbs or so. I really like all the Turbo Jam / Turbo Fire workouts and for yoga I like Eoin Finn quite a bit.Please post often! Hugs! Videos have always been my favorite exercise of choice, because they are so fun and convenient. Right now, I am alternating doing the old Firm videos with jogging/walking 3-4 miles on my treadmill. This morning, I did the Firm's Hare workout, which was fun. I slowly started getting back into shape about a year ago (after a couple years of very little exercising). I'm a in Austin, TX, I tend to pop in and out of this list, but have been collecting for about 20 years as well...right before I went off to college ;-) I'm 36 and about to be a first time Mom. I love Firm Hare, I have to psych myself up to get through tortoise though. A few weeks after delivery (I'm 37 weeks along and on quasi bed rest) I'll be in the same boat of getting back up and dusting myself off. Will be 43 in May. I live with my husband of almost 25 years, daughter soon to be 10 and a house full of dogs, which all are my kids too. I don't post too often, but I read a lot thats posted on here I love workout videos, but I teach aerobics at our local YMCA, so I rarely have a chance to just do workouts at home. I teach Turbo Kick, spin, muscle conditioning, and now Pilates/yoga. I am not good at yoga, so I'm just a backup if they are desperate for an instructor! Lol My favorite at home workouts are TurboFire, Chalene Extreme, and any of Jillian s DVDs. I am 38, married with 2 girls (9 & 11). I also have a full time job outside of my job at the y, so I stay pretty busy, but since I bought my iPhone a few months ago, I'm able to stay connected easier. :)Look forward to hearing what workouts u are doing and any reviews u want to share. :)Teena Sent from my iPhone Hi Ronda! I'm relatively new to exercise videos (about 1-1/2 years) but I think this is a lifetime change for me. I'm 53, 2 grown sons (24,20), currently an unemployed engineer/tech writer, married, and caretaker for my parents (Dad 88 and Mom 87 w/Alzheimers). My parents have been with us for about 3 years, which got me deeper into fitness. They did NOT take care of themselves and, boy, I never want to be like that! I'm one of the older ones here, but I keep thinking I'm only 35, not 53... Glad to have you on board! I'm glad to have found others with the same goals that I have, and who are fitting in workouts around busy schedules, too! I really look forward to reading all your experiences. They've already been so encouraging. Today I walked/jogged on the treadmill for 45 minutes. I jogged a total of 2 1/4 miles, and walked 1 1/4. One of my goals is to be able to jog the entire time...I'll get there eventually! As far as weight goals, I am within 10 pounds of my goal right now. About 5 years ago, I lost 67 pounds, and ended up gaining back 30 of it within 2 years. So I have been trying to lose that since last summer. It has been SO much slower to lose weight this time around (getting older, lol). But now, 9 months later, I am finally getting close. Thank you again for making me feel welcome. Have a good evening! Guest guest Posted March 13, 2012 Report Share Posted March 13, 2012 Hi Ronda! Welcome to the group! I'm , also from Michigan (born & raised there). I'm married and also 45 but my kids are 10 and 13. I'm much newer to videos, having just gotten started with them about 5 1/2 years ago. I'm a huge Firm fan too, as are others in this group. I'm pretty limited in my exercise right now because of a pinched nerve in my right foot (and I think, another in my left foot, I'll ask my doc when I see him Thursday). Both feet are pretty uncomfortable most of the time, with heel pain and the pinched nerve(s) in the toes and I'm never sure what will aggravate them so I've been having a hard time working out lately. I just finished my taxes this morning though, my latest distraction that has also kept me from exercise, so tomorrow I'm going to do some sort of foot friendly workout, possibly a Firm lower body floor work video. When I'm at my best I also enjoy Cathe Friedrich and others for strength training (usually my first love) and do all kinds of cardio except dancing, running and anything with complicated choreography of any sort. I started with Sansone and return to her for light days, recovery and no brainer fun. In my work life, I'm a Weight Watchers meetings leader, having lost 25 pounds with the program that I've kept off for almost 6 years (and counting) so you'll see me comment on weight loss issues as well as exercise here. This group is incredibly friendly, supportive and motivating and I learn so much reading about everyone's workouts. I'll look forward to reading about yours too! I kinda quit once I had my daughter (she will be 9 in August) b/c it was just too hard to coordinate w/ work, etc. But I have exercised forever, mostly using videos/DVDs. I like a wide variety - Firm, Pilates, Yoga, Classical Stretch, , Ellen Barrett - basically, you name it, I'll try it! I have some back issues that I need to baby once in awhile, but since going to a chiropractor on a regular basis I'm feeling much better - and also, I admit, to being a bit wiser about my exercising and trying to get more active recovery/stretch days in. Right now I'm trying to do the Couch to 5K program (mostly on my TM - due to my schedule and inability to get out during daylight hours to run!) and a Slim in 6/Slim Series rotation. I'm late replying because I've been depressed after hurting my foot (plantar fascitis) from walking too much so I didn't keep up on the posts. I'm in Michigan too (Farmington Hills.) I'm 46, single, no kids but I do have a 20 year old blue point Siamese cat (Mia) who keeps me on my toes...she's blind and always wants to be near me. I was doing a Project You rotation with (from Canada) when I hurt my foot. We're starting a Gilad rotation tomorrow (March 19th) for about three weeks. I'm from Michigan with the other hurt foot who is doing the hurt foot rotation (which I'm still devising). I'm 45 years old, mom of four children (ages 18, 20, 21, and 26), and grandma of two (ages 4 years, and 5 months). I live in Michigan, but am originally from California. I've been using exercise videos off and on for over 20 years, and have owned hundreds over that time period. Videos have always been my favorite exercise of choice, because they are so fun and convenient.Right now, I am alternating doing the old Firm videos with jogging/walking 3-4 miles on my treadmill. This morning, I did the Firm's Hare workout, which was fun. I slowly started getting back into shape about a year ago (after a couple years of very little exercising). I love how much better I feel, and am determined to stick with this for life. I look forward to the support on this group. I've been reading about your foot issues (and 's), and hope things improve very quickly for you both. That has got to be miserable, and frustrating. Wow, a 20-year old cat, that is awesome! She sounds beautiful, and very loving. We are big cat-lovers in my family, and own four (ages 7 months, 3 years, 10 years, and 12 years.) I enjoy doing Gilad videos, too, although don't have a big collection of them anymore. I only own New Beginner's Workout, Step Aerobics, and Gilad in Jerusalem. I'm pretty much concentrating on doing Firm videos for another couple months or so, then I will branch back out. I love step workouts, dance videos, Kathy Kaehler is another favorite. I will try pretty much everything! I haven't really done many kickboxing type videos, though, ever since accidently punching myself in the chin while trying to do Tae Bo, years ago, lol. This morning, I did the Firm Maximum Cardio Burn, with Ali Del Rio. It was fun, although I definitely should use slightly heavier weights next time for the aerobics section...they only used the 2 1/2 pound " twigs " that come off of the sculpting stick. I sometimes have trouble doing their short step routines, too, because I occasionally knock over the step (I use the short part of the Fanny Lifter for that), so really need to watch what I'm doing so I don't fall. I might need to switch to using my regular (wider) step for those parts of the workout. Thank you again for introducing yourself. I enjoy reading your posts.
