Well, I understand exactly where you are coming from

regarding the not wanting to accept having RA, and

needing assistive devices. It's something that does

not come overnight.

I know I have yet to use a store scooter, but do have

my cane which I use when needed. Not the most

attractive cane, and it does absolutely zip for my

self-esteem to have it, but if I can save myself a

little pain by using it, I do it. It has taken me 8

years to get to this point so I know how hard it can

be. I am more leery of the store scooters, they seem

so large and bulky, and I am sure than I will just run

some poor child down or run into stacks of items! And

not want to be the fat lady in the scooter - you know,

walk and maybe you'd loose some of that weight!

So, I know exactly how you feel, and am fighting a

loosing battle too with my body, and those stores just

seem to get bigger an bigger, don't they? Anyway, I

am edgeing up to it, and my daughter keeps telling me

to use one, but I am still a bit intimidated by them!

I hope the next time I go into the store, and need

one, I will gather my courage, figure out how to use

them, and scoot my way around rather than hobble. I
