Guest guest
> With the Fitbit journal you have to keep scrolling down to find > your food and it doesn't have very many entries. well .... fitbit keeps multiple lists for you down the right hand side of the food log. favourite foods, favourite meals, foods recently entered and foods most often entered. most often i can find what i need in these lists. but... i do agree that the length of the lists are limited to showing a certain number of entries so you can not readily see every single thing. so... if the food i want to enter is not shown, i can enter it in the search box at the top of the page. if i have entered the food before, my entry is pulled from my personal database and i can click on it to journal it. if it is a new food, i can quickly add it to my database so i can access it in the future. in either case, if i mark the food as a favourite, i can get to it quite easily on the right as that list isnt too long. the best part is that a complete listing of all of the foods i have ever entered in my log is at > http://www.fitbit.com/foods/private (accessed via a provided link on the log called 'edit my foods') this tells me things like the last time i entered a certain food and i can edit the info from here, log it on the journal and set/unset it as a favourite. all of this is great, but i called the food logging section 'clunky' because it took me quite a while to figure all of this out. the documentation is not very good and various sections of the website sometime act in ways that are not logical or expected. also i do not trust the supplied food database at all and always add in my own foods instead of using what is already provided. sometimes i even use the myfitnesspal website to look up the calories on foods and then use that info in my fitbit journal..lol. ive been trying to figure out how im supposed to use myfitnesspal with the fitbit and its website. but so far im just using fitbit.com so i dont get confused...lol it is working for me... ive been alot more active and have lost a couple of pounds :*carolyn. Guest guest
Good for you on the weight loss!I've been using fitbit for a long time but when someone here talked about myfitnesspal, I tried it and I like it more than the fitbit food log. I especially like when you are finished entering for the day and it tells me how much I will weigh in 5 weeks if I continue this way of eating. Guest guest
I love how fitbit works with myfitnesspal. This is exactly what I needed. It makes it super easy. Guest guest
> I especially like when you are finished entering > for the day and it tells me how much I will weigh in 5 weeks if I > continue this way of eating. oooooh, that is a good thing to know!! fitbit wont tell me that but it will say what date i should reach my weight loss goal, and the date goes up or down depending on what i eat or how i workout. im having an issue with fitbit.com though in that it gives me my calorie intake target for the day, but it seems that target does not take into account my weight loss goal. for example, it will tell me to eat just a little bit (maybe 100 calories) less than my cal burn, or it will tell me to eat the same amount of my cal burn and NOT -500 calories for weight loss.... so i have to go and look at a graph to see the total cal burn and the total cal intake and make sure they are 500 cals apart myself... ugh!! im going to try to ask someone on fitbit if this is correct, but it seems to be what it is doing. :*carolyn.
