Guest guest
I have been reluctant to do anything with a yoga flow since last year's crazy injury. It was an irrational fear because I know I'm better now. I had done Yoga Conditioning for Weight Loss with Suzanne Deason recently, but still avoided anything where you come up from any forward bend to standing. Here's why I was reluctant. Last August was the last time I had done a yoga flow. It was this same Eoin Finn DVD, and it left me flattened and unable to get up from the floor. That was a very intense moment, and the first of a number of episodes that left me flat on the floor. The problem had started 5 months earlier, but that's when I realized it had become serious. You know the rest of the story. Fast forward to today. I finally got up the nerve up to try something with a yoga flow: Mountain to chaturunga, to down dog, to warrior 1 & 2. Enough time has passed that I finally felt like I wasn't going to have another blowout. I am ecstatic. Each time I came to standing, I was so relieved that it felt normal. I needed this particular practice. I need a good yoga practice before I can start lifting seriously, or before I try to incorporate running intervals. Such a relief!I've got some thank you notes to write to two wonderful doctors. Happy Workouts!
