Guest guest
If I go that low on calories, sure, I'll lose weight, but I'll start catching colds. Do you mind me asking how low you've been going on your calories? During the week I take in a little over 1,500, but on the weekend I triple that lol. Good to hear you're doing better. You walking everyday like you do is amazing. `* ¸*´¸.•´ ¸.•*¨)¸.•*¨)(¸.•´(¸.• (¸.•´¸¸.•¨¯`•.¸¸.
Guest guest
Hi ,Thank you so much! At the end of the week, I go for an average of net calories of 1750. if I want to lose a couple of pounds a month. This means that if I'm having high calorie expenditures, I will also eat more. The fitbit and myfitnesspal was putting me at 1350. Of course I started losing weight quickly, but the cost is too high. 1750 was my magic number when I lost all that weight in 2002-2003. I kinda lost it a little with food the past few days just because I had felt too hungry for too long. I wanted to feel full! I'm satisfied now, and now I'm going to carry on at 1750. That will cover my needs and keep me healthy. If I go that low on calories, sure, I'll lose weight, but I'll start catching colds. Do you mind me asking how low you've been going on your calories? So many of us are left confused on how much to eat and how many calories we should or shouldn't be taking in. I'm pretty consistent with my weight. I gain 3 or 4 pounds over the weekend and it drops back off by mid week. I feel like I need the weekend to just feel free and eat what I want. I'm use to being strict through the week so I guess it works for me. `* ¸*´¸.•´ ¸.•*¨)¸.•*¨)(¸.•´(¸.• (¸.•´¸¸.•¨¯`•.¸¸.
Guest guest
Yeah, I think it also depends so much on personality. I just wig out after being too strict, so I'm better off if I keep an even keel all 7 days. I just need to feel satisfied at the end of each night. I need to keep the fluctuations smaller. I think you are a much more disciplined person than me. I'm too much of a hippie. I love, love, love having the fitbit and myfitnesspal give me a ballpark of how I'm doing throughout the day. It helps me to figure out whether I need to eat more or not. I kinda lost it a little with food the past few days just because I had felt too hungry for too long. I wanted to feel full! Guest guest
Hi!Yes, ! I was sick a lot this winter (for me). I had something in December, January and then the beginning of March - the last round was the worst. I hope I'm passed it all. Funny, though, I'm sure my situation wasn't from going to low on calories b/c I have actually had a hard time reigning myself in this winter and not overdoing......I think it is just the nature of winter for me, seems to happen every time, of course, this winter wasn't bad at all around here and it seems we are fully into spring now. Donna Subject: brief updateTo: exercisevideos Date: Friday, March 16, 2012, 5:07 PM Hi all, This last bug really wanted to stick around. I'm starting to feel much better, and I think I know what made me sick. I just tweaked the nutrient recommendations from fitbit and myfitnesspal. The calories are too low for me. I know this from many years of logging my food. If I go that low on calories, sure, I'll lose weight, but I'll start catching colds. So, I've happily tweaked my goals. I lost 5 pounds last month, but from experience, I know 2 lbs/month is safer for me, and also psychologically sustainable. I'm in no hurry. Last week, all I did was my walk commutes. It poured buckets all week, so I'm so glad that I have an amazing rain coat that keeps me warm and absolutely dry. I have great shoes, too. I love rainy day walks. I've got a 3 day weekend. I totally rested yesterday, the first day. I still had a sore throat. I'm resting again today. If the sore throat doesn't return at the end of the day, I'll start adding workouts tomorrow. It's all good.
Guest guest
Very interesting! Definitely don't walk around hungry too. Yeah you can lose weight but you can't keep it off because that lifestyle wouldn't sustainable (for you or anyone who had to put up with you)! ;-) Re: brief update Hi , Thank you so much! Guest guest
LOL ! It is a very bad idea to walk around hungry. It makes me mean and dumb. I always made sure to make sure I didn't do that. The problem was that I was waking up in the middle of the night because my stomach was growling. I tried to keep the bulk of the calories available during my work hours, which meant that my evenings ended up too lean. The problem with that is the body needs to do lots of repair at night. I think that's why it weakened my immune system.I feel so much better today! Very interesting! Definitely don't walk around hungry too. Guest guest
Me too!!! :-) Yeah, waking up hungry in the middle of the night is no fun and trying to find the balance between eating enough and too much at night is sometimes tricky. I don't think I've thought about the body repairing itself at night, at least not in that way. That's a super helpful insight to have, I'm glad you shared it! I'm especially glad you're feeling better! Re: brief update Hi , Thank you so much! Guest guest
Thanks Carolyn,This is so weird. Yesterday the sore throat started coming back, so I backed down just a little. It's like there's a very resistant virus hanging out just waiting. I am resting today to avoid having it turn into a cough. I hope it didn't get you! I'm getting caught up with email today. angelica, im glad to hear that you are feeling much better now that you have gotten rid of that cold virus. yesterday i got a sore throat, still have it today. feel kind of funny in the sinuses and also kind of stuffy in the chest... i think i might be getting something which makes me mad because i havent been sick all winter. im off to chug some emergen-c and go to bed. send me some antibodies please, :*carolyn. ------------------------------------

Guest guest
LOL, not so smart after all. I started feeling better. I had lunch with a friend, and then the weather was spectacular after that, so I hopped on a train. I knew I had a week of wet weather bike commuting ahead of me, so I headed out to SF for a leisurely walk, which of course, didn't end up being leisurely -- 66 floors and 10 miles later. I tried to keep it flat, but there were beautiful things on the hills, and had to go see. I'll post photos tomorrow. What an amazingly beautiful day. Lucky, lucky. The sore throat went away again. Carolyn, I hope you feel better! > This is so weird. Yesterday the sore throat started coming back, > so I backed down just a little.
