Guest guest
Awesome job Donna. Scary about getting lost. I'd probably panic.~~ Sent from my Thunderbolt 4GLTE ----- Reply message -----To: <exercisevideos >, <FitFirmies >Subject: Quick Post about my run!Date: Tue, Mar 20, 2012 7:53 pm Hi!I managed to run outdoors tonight while DD was at her art class. To be conservative and safe (in terms of injury prevention) I decided to do the workout from week # 1of Couch to 5K which is alternating 1 min of jogging/running w/ 1.5 min of walking. I warmed up w/ a 5 min walk, then planned to do 10 cycles of the run/walk combo. It went great - and at the end, after 8 cycles, I decided I would try to run for 5 min straight (so two cycles of just running). I did it! THere was a hill though so I stopped to walk it for about 30 sec and then resumed running. The really interesting part is I got lost! The neighborhood where the art studio in is one of those planned developments where everything looks the same - lots of circles and cul de sacs and - seriously, all the houses look exactly the same! So, I was walking in circles (literally!) checking my cell phone for the time. I ended up having to ask 2 people for directions back to the main road. By this time, I had only 10 min to get to the art studio - so I literally had to run to get there on time. I survived! I don't feel too bad - I may be sore tomorrow, though b/c it is a lot harder to propel yourself forward than to run on a TM. To be safe and conservative, I'm planning just yoga for tomorrow morning - either Yoga Conditioning for Weight Loss or Rodney's Yoga for Athletes or a practice from Body Wisdom's Yoga for Athletes.Whew!I'm looking forward to next week's outdoor run!Donna

Guest guest
Donna, I really enjoyed hearing about your outside run! It's addictive, isn't it! And I'll bet you'll be injury free tomorrow but I do agree it's good to stretch, because you're likely to be sore in a good way and that will help I get lost all the time but so far it hasn't been in a suburban area where all the houses look alike - that would be a Lou nightmare! I bring my bus pass with me for all runs longer than 5 miles in case I'm too weary to go on or if I'm lost. All busses in PDX go either to downtown or a big transist center so that's always helpful! I can't wait to read more of your outdoor adventures!HugsPinky

Guest guest
What an adventure! Hey, I'd take this kind of an adventure over the Dreadmill every time. I like the way you keep things balanced! Guest guest
Hi Carolyn, That's ok - I thought it was funny, too. I really wouldn't have minded if I didn't have to pick DD up from her art class at a certain time!
