Guest guest
Hi Donna,That guy is great. I had one of his books. I'm sure you can find them at your local library. I love that he writes for folks like me who aren't built for speed, and aren't natural athletes. You don't have to be fast to enjoy running. Hi - I saw this guy interviewed on the news today for the Rock N' Roll Marathon in D.C. I had heard of him before, but couldn't remember his name. Anyway, he didn't start running until he was 43 - and started overweight and a former smoker. I would love to see some of his training plans, but hate to spend the $$ when there are free ones (like Couch to 5K) on the internet. http://www.johnbingham.com/index.php Donna
Guest guest
I'll have to check that out too! I can run long distances, but I'm DEFINITELY slow and will be brining up the rear on Sunday. I don't mind, for the goal is to finish and have a good time I'm starting to get excited! Here is a pic of the medal for the 15K finishers! It's a beer bottle opener! Hi Donna,That guy is great. Guest guest
That is a super cool medal! Hey, that's all I'm after when I do my cycling events: finishing and having a great time, especially since I never even considered doing anything like that until about 5 years ago. It wasn't on my radar. That stuff was for athletes, and totally foreign to me. His books are so encouraging. Which reminds me, I think I'm ready to start doing some run intervals. It has been ages. Guest guest
OOh - good idea about the library!! I like that he has plans for walk/runs - I prefer to do it that way - seems less stressful on the body. Donna Hi - I saw this guy interviewed on the news today for the Rock N' Roll Marathon in D.C.
