--- s90: day 1: chest/back

From: Festival City Concrete Ltd / & Carolyn Visser

the first workout was chest & back which i felt was a good workout!

i had to keep the pause button handy to get in the required reps

and sets.

even if i finish while tom demonstrates the next exercise, there

is supposed to be a bit of recovery time, so the pause may still

be required.

so, the workout took me longer than the actual run time of the

video, but that was ok. the backgrounders are quite impressive

and all of the exercises were good.

you start with the warmup, which is a separate selection on the

menu, so it is the same footage for all workouts. i felt that

the warmup was quick (4 min) but effective. i used the

rebounder for the jogging and jacks.

next was a core warmup, pausing if needed to get in all of the

reps and sets. the strength training workouts all have a core

warmup, but it is different exercises for each workout. i

really like how tom has included this section at the beginning of

the workouts.

im glad that i used light weights for the workout, because my

whole upper body has soreness the next day... must be from the

pushups. i had to make some modifications -- doing pushups on

my knees for the 3rd set. supermans on the ball were tough and i

moved to floor during the 3rd set. i totally messed up the last

exercise... pushups with row combo. when i watched it back, i

think that i was doing it wrong. that is a tough exercise in

the first place, so im going to do more of a plank, row, then

pushup combo as a modification.

the cooldown was ok, consisting of stretches. again it is a

separate selection on the menu so it is the same footage for all

of the workouts. i still do my own stretching, either on my own

or with a video... just an additional 10-15 minutes, with a

lengthier stretch on the rest days.
