Guest guest
It was idiosyncratic vestibular attackOr we would call it vertigo. She just stole food off counter and is acting like the wild dog. So we will see about agility. This weekend is her last at regular. She drops to vetsSent from my Verizon Wireless 4GLTE smartphone----- Reply message -----To: <exercisevideos >Subject: laptop diedDate: Tue, Mar 13, 2012 18:59 > then Sun AM She can't walk.. her head was tilted to right and she> kept falling and was drooling. Guest guest
Judy, I'm sorry I didn't the original post! Poor baby! Did she have a recent ear infection? Usually most pups who have those are better in a week or two with rest. I pray that is the case!!Let us know! a > > > then Sun AM She can't walk.. her head was tilted to right and she > > > kept falling and was drooling. Guest guest
Interesting! Shenan just had to have her ears cleaned out - gobs of wax and gook came out - on a good side though, I think her hearing is better (I was worried she was going deaf). Apparently, Shar Pei's have a lot of ear issues due to having small and twisty ear canals. (Shenan is a Shar Pei mix). Donna> It was idiosyncratic vestibular attack> Or we would call it vertigo. Guest guest
Her ears are clean... inner ear is generally due to fluids.. I think she had an electrolyte imbalance. She got into some supplements on Friday, Saturday she ran and it was warmer than it has been (~75) and then sunday AM she had the issue.. she has been ok since then. She has a vet appt. this afternoon to confirm no neurological issues but I hope to run her this weekend at her regular jump height 20 in and then she is in preferred .. 16 in for rest of her career.. at 11 years old she is still wild but just sleeps more ..thanks again everyone for the supportj To: exercisevideos Sent: Wednesday, March 14, 2012 10:46 AM Subject: Re: laptop died Interesting! Guest guest
Shenan is probably around 11 as well - she has great energy still and can race around the yard. It is nice to see them age well!Donna> It was idiosyncratic vestibular attack> Or we would call it vertigo. She just stole food off counter and> is acting like the wild dog. Guest guest
Our " JJ " is a 12 year old golden, who still chases tennis balls and squirrels, but is constantly being beat up by our Aussie pup, Hazel. To see the two of them play, you'd think they were both pups! JJ does have some medical issues, the biggest is megaesophagus -- an enlargement of the esophagus. It catches (a lot of!) food and makes him regurgitate it (sort-of puke). Not pleasant. We need to feed him a liquid diet (soggy kibble in a blender w/water) and make him stand on an upright platform to eat from a raised bowl. He still has some bad days with the problem, but for the most part, that takes care of it. Indyrose > > It was idiosyncratic vestibular attack > > Or we would call it vertigo.
