Guest guest
I complained to my Rheumy about the dryness in my mouth, so he sent me a 10 day sample supply of Evoxac to see if it helps. I was taking 3 caps per day. It did make a big difference, so I called for a script for more. I went to the pharmacy today and picked up my meds and the Evoxac. His nurse called in for this med, and the quantity was only 30 caps, enough for 10 days. It cost over $50 for those 30 caps! Of course, it's a name brand and there's no subs for it that I can find. Since I paid for it, I'll take them as needed until they run out, but have to make new plans for the future. I can drink a lot of water for that cost. Guest guest
Dennis, I too have had dry mouth problems. Once as I was checking out of WalMart there on the impulse buy stand was these Aquadrops. They are a lot like cough drops and are not expensive. They work for me. I checked the web just now to see what I could find and sure enough there they are. http://www.aqua-drops.com/ Betty [ ] Speaking of Sjogren's I complained to my Rheumy about the dryness in my mouth, so he sent me a 10 day sample supply of Evoxac to see if it helps. Guest guest
You'd be doing yourself a big favor to drink a lot of water. Chronic dehydration is linked to joint pain and many people are walking around dehydrated and they don't know it. Can you contact the manufacturer and see if they will help you? a On Mar 10, 2006, at 4:39 PM, betnden@... wrote: > I complained to my Rheumy about the dryness in my mouth, so he sent > me a 10 > day sample supply of Evoxac to see if it helps. Guest guest
In researching my symptoms, I found that my pain meds can cause this, but none of the others have this side effect. I do sometimes go without drinking enough liquids but after suffering a bad case of dehydration that almost put me in the hospital, I'm more mindful of the amount of liquids I consume. I know that caffeine is a diuretic, so I drink one cup in the morning with cocoa and milk, and during the day I drink water and weak tea, sometimes a coke. I plan to take the rest of the pills, one per day as prescribed, and work chewing gum into my days. That should help saliva production and at least mask the symptoms, making it more bearable when water can't quench the thirst. Maybe this is only a temporary problem.
