Guest guest
Hello, . I have the same problem. It has gotten worse with the increase in my MTX dose. I cut back on it or stop it all together and the symptoms subside. But, I don't do this without the express consent of my rheumatologist. You should discuss this with your doctor. Chances are pretty good that it is all related to your MTX. Give your doc a call and see what she/he says.....Marina --- In , Simply Chai <mariapremont@...> wrote: > > Hello again: > I have another question....The other day, I went to > a Mexican restaurant and noticed that my whole mouth > was on fire when I was eating my salsa. Guest guest
The only time I get that is when I forget my Folic Acid. Instead of dropping the MTX - up your folica acid and they should go away. But let your doctor know. Guest guest
Are you taking folic acid ? Folic acid can help reduce the side effects of mtx including mouth sores. Please call you doctor and let him know about the sores so he can tell you what you should do. a On Mar 15, 2006, at 5:27 PM, Simply Chai wrote: > Hello again: > I have another question....The other day, I went to > a Mexican restaurant and noticed that my whole mouth > was on fire when I was eating my salsa. Guest guest
Don't reduce it without talking to your doc. He might tell you to increase your folic acid or add Leucovorin. Even with that, my mouth is always a bit raw. It's not so bad but I do avoid spicy food. --- In , Simply Chai <mariapremont@...> wrote: > > Hello again: > I have another question....The other day, I went to > a Mexican restaurant and noticed that my whole mouth > was on fire when I was eating my salsa. Guest guest
: I love spicy hot foods too! I would say that you should call your doctor, but it sounds like you need to up your Folic Acid. That should help. Guest guest
Hi , when I was on methotrexate I had those ulcers alot. Are you taking folic acid? I took folic acid but I felt that sometimes I got them anyway. I use to rinse my mouth with salted water. Guest guest
Alice . . . You'll need to check your post-op report before we can hazard a guess. You might just start by phoning your surgeon and asking if he/she did a total capsulectomy and if there was any free-floating silicone outside the capsule. Then ask that they send you your post-op report. Many women who have had implants have a systemic fungal/yeast/Candida problem going on. . . Do you know anything about these type of infections? They can occur any where on the body . . . in the hair it's called dandruff . . . the female type is called a yeast infection . . .in the mouth, it's called thrush and for guys, it's called jock itch. . . of course there's the toenail/fingernail kind . . . Basically, this stuff can grow anywhere . . . on the skin, or under it. Our archives are full of information about detoxing from systemic fungal problems . . . However, if you had free floating silicone, that may be the cause of the problem. However, if your doctor was able to remove your implants "en bloc", that's not likely. Did you have a lift (mastopexy) when you had your implants removed? What you're feeling could be scar tissue from the removal of your implants - or it could be residual capsule. . Did you have drains to get rid of any accumulated fluid? You might try washing the area with 3% hydrogen peroxide . . . If you still have any open areas, don't apply anything that might irritate it. . . Hugs, Rogene
Guest guest
I have had a little bit of discharge but no scaly spots yet. Did you have your implants removed thought your nipples? Mine were removed through incisions under both breasts. Yes, they are all okay, in the doses recommended, while you are breastfeeding. Bee
