I was wondering about that too. We have a travel trailer with a queen bed, and like most travel trailers, the mattress that came with it is AWFUL (even befoer I had RA!!!<g>) We bought two of the 2 " toppers from Costco, and it made the bed really nice and comfy. I figure if it does that well on a terrible mattress, it could make a HUGE difference on a good mattress. But... The mattress on our " real " bed (the one in the house<g>) is already a very thick mattress that needs the " deep pocket " sheets. My husband is very big and quite heavy (about 240) and even with just the regular mattress as it is now, the fitted sheet is always popping off on MY side, because there isn't as much weight holding it down. (not that I'm a light weight, I'm 5'10 " and 155 lbs, but compared to him...) So I've been a little concerned about putting the money into the topper only to find out that we can't keep the sheets on the bed with it in place. My hips would sure appreciate it though! Guest guest
IMHO, the ones on sale today on Overstock are not very good. They're 3 lb. foam, the real ones from Tempurpedic are 5.3 lb. You can get the good foam for a lot less than Tempurpedic charges, just be sure you're buying 5 lb or 5.3 lb foam. Some people prefer 4 lb, it's a little softer, but the 3 lb is too soft to do much except soften a hard mattress. Just my opinion. > > There was some discussion a few weeks ago about memory foam toppers > and the contour pillows. > Overstock.com has the best prices I've seen and they're even running > a free shipping special. > I absolutely love my topper and pillow. Guest guest
I'd love to know before I bought them which sheets are likely to REALLY be deep enough!<g> As far as the straps are concerned, been there, tried that. First, they don't really work very well. Second, even before RA, I had a heck of a time getting them on the bed. I think it would be too much for my hands at this point. I might take a chance on the 2 " topper though... especially now with the tip about the differences between the weight of the different foams. > > > I was wondering about that too. > > > > We have a travel trailer with a queen bed, and like most travel > > trailers, the mattress that came with it is AWFUL (even befoer I had > > RA!!!<g>) We bought two of the 2 " toppers from Costco, and it made > > the bed really nice and comfy.
