Guest guest
In my state, Washington - NOT dc, a law has passed saying pharmacists have the right to NOT fill a script if it is against their morals to do so, for example, birth control pills. Our Governor is NOT happy about this one and I expect it to be changed. My Governor is a woman. I voted for her. Even if you have a script from your doctor, the pharmacist can turn you away based on his/her personal beliefs. Here are a couple links to check this out. Seriously take a look at these sites below. There is a lot there, but go and just get an idea of what I am talking about, this could affect us with pain meds.... http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2003054122_danny11.html http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/archives/individual/2006_04/008613.php http://www.thestranger.com/blog/2006/06/the_morning_news_5.php So, who does this fire up here?? My guess, this could make it so pharmacists can deny filling pain meds if THEY feel we are taking too many! I will leave my profanities to be read between the lines on what I think about this. I can hear ya'll screaming now! Rainy __________________________________________________
Guest guest
This issue has come up in the news many times in the past few years. But I have not experienced this myself. Then again I go to a large chain pharmacy. So I think they would loose there jobs with Walmart, HEB and Kmart if they did that around here. I would bet though that small private owned pharmacies may have this issue. Keep in mind also that there is a pharmacist shortage as well. Pharmacist has always had the right to question prescriptions and turn them in to the DEA for investigation if they felt a person was getting too much or too many. I know for a fact that here all narcotic prescriptions are verified before they are filled. You can thank the drug addicts and dishonest people for making it hard on the honest folks. I am not concerned about this at all. Cause we live in a free country and if a pharmist refuses to fill your prescription for moral or religious reasons I would just carry ALL my business somewhere else!!!
