My periodic injection site reactions are very mild. The redness and

itching are gone by the next day. I usually put Sarna anti-itch lotion

on mine, and it helps. I would never stop the Enbrel because of my

reactions.

She also might try applying ice to the injection area. By the way,

where does she inject? I use my stomach, where there are fewer nerve

endings.

I get injection site reactions sometimes, and not others. I didn't

get them the first few time I took my shots either. Mine are itchy

and red, like a bad bug bite. I have found that if I put Benadryl

lotion on it immediately, it helps a lot, and goes away quickly.

Occasionally I get an injection site reaction, but mine are very mild,

about like a mosquito bite. And I don't get them often. I never seem to

get them after my Tuesday night injection, because I go to sleep. After

my Saturday morning shot, when I get a reaction, I put some Sarna

lotionon it, and it is soon gone.

If you call the Enbrel customer service people, they can probably help

you deal with the reactions. They might have some ideas about how to

minimise them. I always let my Enbrel sit a while and warm up 10-15

minutes before I inject it. Putting ice on afterward might also help.
