Guest guest
Hello my friends, The only certainty is indeed change. Visited my family doc today. We mainly discussed this new diagnosis of COPD and pain mgt. and the rapid decrease in Pred, from my rheumy. Boy, was he ticked at the Rheumy!! My increase in pain coupled with my new pulmonary condition and my rheumy still dropped me that quickly and didn't even change course.....He told me to tell my rheumy that my family doctor " is really pissed off!' " (I see my rheumy tomorrow). Anyway, family doc upped my pain med and is referring me to a pain-mgt. clinic in a nearby city! This is encouraging. However, he listened to my lungs and said I am getting a " fantastic " amount of air in my lungs, that the exchange is wonderful.....My O2 sats. this am were from 83% to 94%!!! 87% to 92% since i've been home (at rest!!). This baffles him. My question to you guys revolves around this next statement. He said that even with emphysema, COPD, or whatever and only on 5 MG Pred. (i'm on 20mg), with lung sounds like mine, I should be in the upper 90 % range with activity or at rest! Soooooo, now he's thinking heart?!? Not enough circulation to provide an effective gas exchange. Maybe.....my rheumy is supposed to some pulmonary testing tomorrow. Anybody else experience this strange symptom? It is either heart or lung or both. (my last heart ultrasound in late March/early April was fine!). Sir Still's totes around one wicked, weird disease. Just like in the onset, the blasted uncertainty gets me!! Thanks! You people ARE the best!! May you all find peace in your bodies and spirits today!! God Bless!! Larry B.
