Guest guest
I was told there is no need to test to see what strain he has. he has lyme..bottom line..does that make sense ? From: Mimi <mimi@...> Subject: [ ] Re:HI. I'M A NEW MEMBER Date: Wednesday, January 13, 2010, 4:55 PM I am sorry about your son. I know where he is coming from. You need to consider getting him tested through Igenex or Fry labs for co-infections. It sounds like he could have Babesia or others. Guest guest
Hi Tiffanie, Actually it can be important to find out if he has coinfections. These are not different strains of Lyme, but different infections that are also passed on at the same time that Lyme is. Some of them do not respond to the meds given for Lyme and therefore it's important for the LLMD to know if someone has these other infections so they can determine appropriate treatment. Guest guest
Yes and no. Borrellia is " Lyme's " essentially and they are pretty much treated the same unless the treatment doesn' t work for you or causes you to herx so severely that they change the drugs around and customize your treatment. But the co-infections are treated differently so ask for them too. One of my LLMD's said he rarely had a case of Borrelia alone without co-infections or equivocal co- infection results. Which means you have had it before and it's stabilized itself over time or is dormant. The definition of that is fuzzy. Guest guest
No that's wrong. I am not the one who responded to that email but some ticks have co-infections which make things even more complicated but they can treat you more effectively after they have tested for this.... i know it's a nightmare. you should get some books and start researching... everything you need to know about lyme and cure unknown are two helpful books also you should make an appt w/ dr charles ray jones as soon as you can! goodluck!peace From: Mimi <mimiiammimi (DOT) com> Subject: [ ] Re:HI.
