Guest guest
I find this topic very interesting. I had one misscarriage and then a twin pregnancy where the babies were born very early( 15 weeks for one twin and my ohter twin was born at 18 weeks) then I had another twin pregnancy where the babies were born at 25 weeks and they lived a few days before passing on. I then had 2 more pregnancies that I insisted on a cerclage and that made my babies almot full term. But, none of my living childrens pregnancies ( I have 3 kids) were full term. My first was born at 33 weeks. my second (even with the cerclage) was 35 weeks and my third was 37 weeks. I always thought I had an incompetent cervix but now I am wondering if it is the RA sorry for both of your losses ladies. take care sandie
Guest guest
I don't know how RA affects pregnacies, but you might want to ask your female blood relatives to find out if the problem is genetic. slmcc93@... wrote: I find this topic very interesting. Guest guest
Kathleen, This disease is usually triggered by stress or trauma of one type or another. I would think that the PA showed up as a result of the trauma and stress you suffered from losing the baby, not the other way around. I don't know about the getting pregnant again theory because I was long past that part of my life before I was dx with PA myself. Someone else with more experience could give you that info. God bless you and I'll add you to my prayers. Janet in Ca

Although no way as distressing as your circumstances, I had a similar experience with the onset of my PA -- I had a routine hernia operation, which went wrong, and within a very short time developed symptoms of PA for the first time. Physical (and psychological or emotional) trauma of all sorts can be responsible for bringing on the symptoms of PA when you never knew you even had the wretched disease. Small consolation, but I don't imagine that PA should threaten miscarriage in any subsequent pregnancy -- but I should check with your Dr, especially if you're receiving any meds for the PA. Good luck. Marcus
