Guest guest
Hi All; Did any of you ever have a hemorrhage in an eye? I just came back from the E.R. where the Dr. performed laser surgery to repair the bleeding blood vessel. There is no permanent damage, thank heavens. Just wondering if it had anything to do with RA. Guest guest
That happens to me on occasion. I never know it until my wife or daughter comment on it. It goes away after a few days and all is okay until the next time. I have been showing signs of Sjogrens Syndrome lately and am taking sample meds for that and it works as long as I remember to take the mid-day dose. I don't worry about the eye problem and my eye doc doesn't worry either, I didcussed it with him Saturday at my checkup. Guest guest
, I don't know about RA but I do know that with bleeders hours can make the difference between loosing your sight or keeping it. Sight is so precious that I would not ignore any unless an opthamologist had seen enough of these to assure me that it is safe to ignore them. Bleeders need surgery immediately, not even wait until the next day. My family relations have not had RA problems but there have been several instances of bleeders. Sometimes the laser surgery can be scheduled for a little later if the bleeding has already stopped however that call should be made by a doctor who does laser surgery. My daughter had one that the surgery was done that same day, even after regular hours. Now she has another one but the bleeding has stopped and the surgery is scheduled for next month. Better safe than sorry. Once the sight is gone it is gone. BVan (Betty) > Hi All; > > Did any of you ever have a hemorrhage in an eye? Guest guest
Hi Betty: Thanks for your input. Yes, sight is precious and I went to the ER as soon as I realized something was wrong. According to the Drs this is frequently caused by a trauma, in people with diabetes, high blood pressure. I had none of these and was wondering where it came from. The Dr also said I have to sleep sitting up.... Makes me feel like a horse How long do I have to do that? Take care. Guest guest
, My daughter is diabetic, type 1 since a small child. But my sister is not and she has had the same thing happen to her. Both have had multiple episodes with multiple laser surgery. Both of them have sight now due to good medical care. My mother had neither diabetes nor high blood pressure, was blind because of that same thing but long enough ago to not have the benefit of good treatment. One day I walked outside when the sky was a funny overcast and it suddenly looked like I had a bucket of blood thrown in my eyes. I did not see it inside. I called the doctor and he had me come in immediately. That was such that it cleared itself. With my family history I would not make a decision on my own. I'm glad yours was such that with the prompt attention there will be no problems with that one. BVan (Betty) Re: [ ] ((((((( To All: question ))))))))) Hi Betty: Thanks for your input. Guest guest
Thanks Betty. Right now it's a huge bother because I see the world through a " black veil. " --it feel like it's Halloween! I should be ok in a couple of weeks. Hugs. Betty <bvanOmega@...> wrote: , My daughter is diabetic, type 1 since a small child. But my sister is not and she has had the same thing happen to her.
