Guest guest
Hi Deborah Do not worry I did the same thing this past summer, but it was two boxes of Hurmira I left out for two day.I get my Hurmira delivered directly to me and they had sent two months worth, so when I call then they ask for the lot number to make sure they were mines, and I forgot to but then back. I call Progress, they take care of the deliver and enrollement of Humira here in Ontario Canada. I was told if it was 24 hour it was okay to use but mines was past the 24 hours so I was told to package it back up and they would have some pick it up for me and send me out another one as a one time coutesy, Don't worry about the pharmacy you are only human and mistakes happen. dkj <outpost@...> wrote: I am such a dolt! I came home yesterday with my meds including Humira and dinner from Culver's for everyone. Somehow in the rush to eat and making sure I had my fair share of onion rings, I forgot to put the Humira in the refrigerator! I evidently started to, because a while later I checked the bag to make sure that I'd put it away, but no, I had just set it down on the kitchen island and I found it there the next day half-hidden under the general clutter. I don't want to call the Dr/pharmacy, (because really, in addition to saying I'm out of luck, I'm sure they'd put it down in my file... " Client is idiot. Do not renew incredibly expensive medication " ... just like they take note of when and how many times you are late to appointments...), so does anyone here know how long Humira can remain unrefrigerated before... before what? something degrades? I found an article about another biologic? (Kineret) that said not to use if unrefrigerated for more than 24 hours. It was not exposed to light, was in a room that was probably 68-69 degrees, and the liquid is not cloudy and doesn't have anything floating in it. Thanks for any info; I'd hate to miss a month's worth of medicine. Deborah
Guest guest
Deborah, Can't you call the company that makes Humira and see what they have to say? You don't have to identify yourself, do you? Can't you just remain anonymous? If it were me, I'd inject the next dose and see if it's still working. And we all have done things like this, so don't feel abnormal or anything, LOL. Guest guest
True enough... I could definitely try that... Thanks for the suggestion. And thanks for reminding me that I'm not the only one that does things like this! Deborah Re: [ ] How long can Humira be unrefrigerated? Guest guest
Whew! Good to know... Jeepers, I wish I could get two months worth at a time. I take Humira every 10 days and I can only pick up one box every 20 days. (And I'd have to buy at full price any replacement meds. ack!) Thanks for letting me know that I can still use the Humira I left out. My lucky day! Deborah Re: [ ] How long can Humira be unrefrigerated?
