Guest guest
thanks kathe!! i have 4 months to get myself into shape before my favorite band comes thru town again. you know i want to be right between those tour buses again!!! it seems i did things backswards. i've never tried planquil. is it sulpha based?? maybe that's why. when they first mentioned mtx i was afraid to try it due to the side effects. then it was one that gave me a good run almost 4 years!!! i can't believe how fast i am returning to the old ways. the fevers come and go almost every day again. i spent over 1 1/2 hrs in my primary care office again. i told him i was going to bring in my tv since i spend so much time there!!! why do they make me come in to agree with everything that i say? why couldn't he just call in the 7th medication for this yeast infection he got me on with all the steroids. i told him that the good news is i'm not coughing anymore. so he calls in more meds to me and refers me to the gyne, tells me he thinks my pain and trouble with my periods is the fibroid tumor they found. duh!!! i told him about my problems with mtx and tell him i am so tired after work. i just don't want to do any housework anymore. i folded 1 load of laundry and my arms hurt. but does he offer any suggestions for the next 3 weeks. nope. i am going to call my rheumi's office again tomorrow and tell them i am increasing my prednisone to 10 mgs unitl i come in. i just don't want to anymore kathy in il kathy in il
Guest guest
Kathy: Sorry you are having such a tough time. Yes, it's probably best not to do Mtx again, obviously you had an allergic type reaction to it. I read other posts that said you had tried Enbrel before and it was not good for you? And Arava seems to have also caused trouble, you'll probably want to avoid that as well. Have you tried Plaquenil? I know there must be something out there that can help you, and I hope that your doctor keeps trying. Are you still running a fever? You sure have been through a lot, my friend, and I pray that your luck begins to turn around to the better, and soon. Take care of your self and hang in there - Kathe in CA --- kringlemom@... wrote: > well my rheumi's office just called back and said i > can not go back on the > methotrexate, they feel with the incidents i had > with my tongue and chest it > would be too great a risk. so she tells me they are > sending me information > and a prescription for arava. i said great, i've > already taken that back in 97 > or 98. i was so dizzy i had to hang on to the walls > at work to get around. she > told me to review the information. but ultimately > it is my decision. my appt > is in 3 weeks. i am so tired and sore, just don't > want to do it > anymore.(housework, motivation 0) i sat here and > ran a fever last weekend. i haven't felt > this way in awhile. add on my 4 front teeth are > loose and so sore. my car is > leaking trans fluid again in 2 spots and was told > that the fluid is cheaper > than the fix. i am still trying to recover from the > car catching on fire, > christmas, sinus infection, ear infection, > bronchitis, pneumonia, steroid boost, > yeast infections x 6 meds and still a problem > !!!!!!! i always hear, don't > worry next year will be better. it really hasn't > been so far!!! > > kathy in il > > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been > removed] > > Kathe " To ride a horse is to borrow freedom. Lord is she gonna get an earfull! Maybe after i let it all out she will actually help me instead of writing a script and sending meon my way for another 4 months... ok i'm done venting sorry hugs. from PA

Guest guest
Kathy: Sorry you are still hurting so much and so fatigued. I know how much you love those concerts - I sure hope that you are able to go and enjoy yourself. I know how much Prednisone helps, don't blame you for increasing your dose. Sorry you are feeling so much like you did many years ago, like deja vu disease, but sometimes it's like that. When do you see your rheumay again? Have your tried any of the biologics? I don't know what if Plaquenil is sulfur based or anything, it was just the RA med with the least amount of side effects that the doctor offered me when I was first dx, also offered Mtx and Arava, which both scared me because of the liver damage. And then I ended up on both anyway, but for only about 6 months on the Arava -it helped but gave me lots of stomach issues - and now have been on Mtx for 4 years with good result, and for the last 4 months on Enbrel too and doing well. Actually I think it is more Fibro pain now than anything else. Anyway, hope you do get to that concert, and get to doing better soon. Guest guest
Very comforting to know I am not alone. Maybe this will inspire the young ones to know that although we were dynodes long before all the new meds, we are still here <VBG> Hugs June Re: [ ] venting!!!
