Guest guest
Hi Angie: It's very hard to get people to really understand what we go through. I have told my family that it is like having the flu, just achy and feeling like yuck, and then throw in stiffness and pain in all your joints, like you might get if you worked out very hard and were not used to it. Also, overwhelming, mind numbing fatigue, beyond bone tired, beyond taking a nap and feeling rested, never feeling really rested like you haven't slept for a week. My family has seen this for 8 years and they get it, but for people who do not see what you go through on a daily and personal basis, it can be hard to get them to understand. Sometimes they get it, sometimes they don't. It's extra hard if they cannot see any difference in you from the outside, you still look the same, and it's hard to get past that sometimes. Have you let them know that you need other help? If you don't tell them, they won't know. Sometimes that is all it takes. Just remember, we understand, and are here for you.
