Sorry that I'll be giving you an unsatisfying answer: I don't know. I'm not

sure if anyone does.

Humira was developed as the first " fully human " monoclonal antibody to treat

RA with the hopes that immunogenicity would not be a problem; however,

immunogenicity seems to be an issue for all three anti-TNF agents, including

Humira. The extent of the problem is still being investigated.

There also seems to be a synergistic effect when MTX is added. That is still

being pondered and studied.

So many mysteries.

In any case, I'll post some of the relevant articles, so you can have a

better sense of what is known.
